Desert Sand, Body Closeup

The Squier Classic Vibe Duo-Sonic '50s is an electric guitar that is dripping with coolness and classic Fender vibe. The Duo-Sonic guitar was originally conceived as a student-grade model designed to capture the attention of 1950s youth caught up in the burgeoning rock 'n' roll craze. Collectors, performing musicians and Fender fanatics have since come to know the Duo-Sonic as an ultra-cool addition to the Fender line of Fine Electric Instruments.

Coming in Desert Sand over Basswood, this 21 fret gloss maple neck prize combines a comfortable 24" scale with the modern playability of a 9.5" radius and medium jumbo frets. Equipped with a custom set of AlNiCo V single-coil pickups and three-way selector switch, the Classic Vibe Duo-Sonic produces bright, clear tones that are unmistakably Fender.

Classic Vibe! Back in 1982, the very first Squier by Fender guitars and basses came ringing out of Asia. Known for their excellent vintage-quality look, feel, sound and construction, those early Squier instruments and their Fender branded counterparts are now highly sought-after collector's items revered by guitar enthusiasts as models of "getting it right" while aiming at value-conscious players. The Squier Classic Vibe Series reflects that simultaneous commitment to excellence, value and vibe. Mirroring classic Fender designs, the Classic Vibe offering is not intended to be era or vintage correct, but rather imparting the 'vibe' of a classic Fender design. Each with distinctive feature set combinations—all adding up to one classic looking instrument. Great sound, vintage looks, unbeatable value—Classic Vibe!

i was trying lower budget guitars for fun at a music store on the amp i have at home (fender hot rod deluxe) and i was so impressed by this guitar, the neck feels and looks incredible, i'm so not a strat guy, but this thing just felt right in my hands, i'm certainly more of a Gibson guy and even though the neck was a lot thinner than i am used to, i loved it, blew me away, and at an unbeatable price, even the toggle felt like it was a quality component. great guitar, workmanship was top notch too. pickups aren't suited to everything, but it is still versatile, you can't expect too too much out of pickups, some people are looking for everything in stock pickups, and somethings they're just not meant for, and these are very quiet, smooth and responsive pickups. great guitar, buy it.

You cannot beat this guitar for the money! The neck is incredible for the price. It is undeniably Fender, and quite possibly better than the last handful of Mexican examples I've tried- none of which would I own either! The example I received had a near perfect neck, dressed beautifully, and very sleek. Puts you in mind of some of the late 90's American strats... not quite there but close. Frets on mine are medium- which is what you need for a shorter scale guitar. Quality of electronics are to be expected and not that impressive. Pickups are OK and somewhat hot for single coils; albeit they are very quiet and you can push alot of gain with them successfully. The 3-way switch was bad in my example when I got it, but I can't complain. I'd never send a lower-end guitar that is this nice back for such a minute issue. I would consider upgrading electronics, pickups, switches, pots, input jack, and tuners with quality replacements. That sounds like alot but most guitars suffer in that area. The paint job is flawless and absolutely beautiful- deep and rich. You can see Fender's reputation throughout this instrument from one end to the other. It is a welcome addition. Guitars like this raise the bar very high for the competition.

This is an incredible guitar. I didn't notice if it was Fender, Squier, or what. Didn't care. Price is not a factor. Just looking for another sound color for a session. Took it down, played it. First thing I noticed of course is that it's a great looking guitar. They got the details right. Color, finish, setup, etc. Grabbed the neck and was delighted. Very very comfortable, frets finished perfectly, wow. Plugged in and played it through a few amps. Tube, solid state, cheap, expensive, etc and it sounded rich and clear on everything I plugged into. As for which style of music to play on it, well, it's never the guitar....it's the hands. So you can play anything on it. I've got plenty of other guitars (Fender, Gibson, Epiphone, Gretsch, Ibanez, etc etc) but this is one of my top 4 to play and to record with. Oh....and imagine my surprise when I noticed that it's a Squier, and the price was less than I was going to spend on just cables that day. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though. It came from Leo.

I was blown away at the sound and quality of construction of this guitar. Love the clean, spanky tone. A cross between a Tele and a Strat. Actually sounds more Tele-like than the Telecaster I own! Very clean too--no static or hum. Also, the guitar is much prettier than the bland pictures you see. The aluminum pick guard is nice touch and rare for a guitar in this price class. My only issue was rough fret ends. Odd, as the finish on the guitar is so well done overall. But those fret ends are something else! Nothing that a little filing cannot solve. A great value in an electric guitar.
