For the price, this Squire is a super deal! It looks great, plays well, sounds good, has a nice smooth neck and has that cool butterscotch blonde color and black pickguard thing goin' on. I've had mine for about three years now and it has given me no problems at all. I own several American Strats and Gibsons and this little guitar is the best value of them all. The pickups sound great but they are a little under powered. You can easily solve that problem by cranking up your amp a notch. Some of the newer models of this guitar did have rough frets but I think they have fixed that problem. Overall it's a really nice guitar for the money. I would recommend it to anyone wanting a telecaster...

So I played this in the store, and wow it was amazing. the action was fast and my fingers rejoiced. I even had to look at the name just make sure it wasent a fender. I was so surprised about how easy it wasa to play this thing. I plan on buying it real soon!

I own four guitars and this is my favourite. I bought mine old, used, and beat-up for $50. I love modifying it, as it is cheap, easy, and rewarding. I still play the stock pickups (they rock), though I changed the wiring to series and out of phase, which gives a complex but powerful sound with both pups on. The bridge pup has a driving, aggressive twang. The neck pup is sweet and creamy. The neck is well worn in, to say the least. All the scuff marks and such make it VERY SMOOTH and one can tell how much love and playing it has recieved. I traded the stock black plastic nut for a lsr roller and the frets(rendered unplayable by deep string marks) for wide-low Les Paul (rip) style frets. I also scratched off the words on the headstock and drew some nonsense. I play fingerstyle with flatwound 10-46 strings tuned to C# (Iommi, Baby!) through a Marshall Tube Stack with no effects.

Complaints: Considering the condition when bought and the hell I put it through, It's held up Very Well. However, the headstock started splitting down the middle some time ago. I fixed this by clamping it with some 5min epoxy. (No Way am I getting a new neck for this!) The bridge saddles sometimes drop the string height and this causes muting. I will get new saddles soon. I had to replace the cheap plastic jack plate which broke with a metal one.

Overall, this guitar is best either for beginners, cheapskates, or modheads like myself. The tele is an electric guitar at its most primal. Everything you need, except cable, amp, and soul, is here.

The more I play this guitar the more I like it. Great tone! Quality is excellent. No flaws in the finish. I never thought I would own a Tele but I am very glad I got this guitar.

Great for the price

I've had this guitar for about a year now and it is definitely worth the small amount of cash. It looks great and played great right out of the box. The pickups are pretty weak but they sound good enough and certainly provide that telecaster twang. It stays in tune and has no fret buzz or anything that I expected for such a low price. The finish is pretty thin, I bumped it against my Gibson LP and took a good chunk out of the clear coat while the LP wasnt even smudged. This is my third Squire and I've never had a problem with any of them. Would recommend this for beginners or someone like me who just likes the look and wants that signature tele sound for cheap.
