It gets a five for features because with the lime green paint, light up dog eyes, glowing logo, and of course the big honkin hillbilly style bare foot pedal. I would put it on my board if it was empty and did nothing but sit there looking cool. As far as durability I'd guess it at about fifty-fifty on the chances of it surviving a fall out of a two story window -seriously. The thing weighs AT LEAST five pounds. Even the roughest of feet will not move this thing around while using it. However the bottom of the case is thin stamped steel and while the rest of the case is strong enough to protect it from that hypothetical fall (probably) it vibrates like a boinged spring (the only way I can think to describe it.) if you go down hard on the heel side. But like the clicking button if you can hear it you're not playing loud enough. As far as sound this thing is more shaft intro theme than sweet child o mine solo. The range is pretty wide and the progress of the wah happens a little quicker at the top of the wah with a lot of flare right at the end (i.e. toe going down). The only thing I don't like about this pedal is that, when using moderate to heavy distortion, with certain notes there are certain parts in the wah travel that greatly intensify the volume and create a weird octave up distortion as you pass the point in the pedal travel. For instance with the heel all the way down an open D note will howl like feedback an octave higher and the first note in voodo chile does the same thing with the toe all the way down(of all notes why that one?). I'm a wah novice so I don't know if thats normal but it can be a little annoying when the top or bottom of the wah travel resonates with a note you're using often on a particular song or using slow wah travel when you hit those resonances. Overall I love the thing though and I can live with the shortcomings because of the awesome over the top looks. I might try another wah for rock solos but this one gets the job done with style for funk and has the funky looks to match.

This pedal is just right for those of us using 12K pickups or better. The CryBaby has always had way too much spike for my tastes. With somewhat hotter than normal pickups the Dog's Wah 2 really comes to life.
And by the way, if you're able to hear the clicking of the pedal then you're probably not playing loud enough.

I had an original Crybaby for years. It started sounding old and generic too me, so I got rid of it and got one of these. I miss my Crybaby.
This thing has a funky sweep, even worse than the dunlop. Everything happens right at the end of the sweep, mainly on your toe side. Also it clicks when you go all the way down on the toe side. Very loud and noticeable. And annoying.
I am moving on in my search for a wah, and will pay someone to take this thing away.

I'm sorry, but this could really use a preamp.

I got this before getting my Blues Bawls pedal. On the plus side, this has a nice natural wah sound that works well, and plays smoothly. On the minus side, you have to rely more on either your amp, or your other effects pedals to get any meaty sounds. This is a straight wah pedal (plain & simple). If this is what you want, go for it. But if you want something with versatility and bite, upgrade to the Snarling Dogs Blues Bawls pedal. It's a LOT more pedal, at a little more price.

This is my first wah pedal. I bought it because it was not very expensive and it looked like it was built to last, I was not disappointed. The pedal gives you a good wah sound, and it's fun to mess around with different distortion set-ups to get cool sounds. My only problem is the on-off switch. It's not very easy to press it when I'm sitting down. Overall it's a decent wah that looks pretty cool and will add awesome effects to your sound.
