I purchased two because of the quality issues on prior reviews and indeed had to return one for that reason. Overall a very nice sounding and playing guitar. Two things you need to know are the neck is a V shape and the frets are very low making it hard to do chords real well. This guitar shines as a picker though. At this price you could sand some of the thick finish off and have a good sounding axe. It does really have a $1000 dollar sound if you get past the finish issues.

I found this guitar by accident. I check the stupid deal of the day section every morning. I did not know what a Silver Creek guitar was. I happened to catch that it had a solid wood top, back and sides. I have seen many decent acoustics that are made in China lately. After reading the reveiws I realized I couldn't go wrong considering the very low price tag. Upon receiving this guitar all mine needed was a slight neck adjustment and a good tuning. This guitar sounded great right away, but after many, many hours of playing it is getting better all the time. I keep my more expensive acoustics in their cases to keep them in their best condition. I bought this one to keep out and play all the time. I like he tone of this guitar so much that I no longer look at it as a cheap guitar to keep out and take outside ect. In terms of sound quality it is definately up there with expensive name brands.

I purchased this guitar with a lot of skepticism. I had been looking for a good guitar that would give me a thick worm sound that I didn’t get from my old art & lutherie. I tried out several low to mid range guitars. I did not find the sound I wanted. It is hard to find in the 200-800 price range a guitar that does not sound “tin like”. This guitar can sure beat in sound quality most of the guitars in the price range. I definitely love it. The only guitar I tried that could surpass the sound that I was looking for was the Gibson Hummingbird Artist I hope to have money for that someday.

I've been playing 45 years, many of them professionally, and have owned 20-30 high end handmade acoustic guitars. I bought it to use in outdoor gigs or bars where I didn't want to take a $4000 guitar. I was expecting OK and figured if it was less than that, I could return it. I was astounded. It is a very nice guitar, easily the equal of other factory built guitars 3-4X its price. The action on mine wasn't bad but I took it down a little. I was amazed at the hand compensated bone saddle. I also swapped the tuning machines - the weak point of the guitar. Then I added my pickups of choice and I have a great, inexpensive gigging guitar. It will likely be my primary gigging guitar. I don't have to worry about it! But it is soooo good, I'm sure I will.

I wish it had a 1 3/4 fingerboard (I know the 000 does but I wanted the larger body more than the fingerboard width) and I'd like bigger frets, hence the 3.5 for features, but all in all, this is an amazing buy. It is the best value/cost ratio instrument I have ever seen.

I have recommended these guitars to a number of friends and at least 3 have already purchased one after playing or hearing mine.
