You just can't beat this peal. The sound quality is stellar. True tube tone. I've had 4 of these because I keep getting lured away with some seductive promise of a better sound/pedal only to come back and buy another one. I'm a pro player, these are just awesome.I gave it a 4 for features due to the lack of a mid control but hey my amp has a tone stack too. You will not get tone this rich with an op-amp.

Twin Tube Classic

For the type of tones that I go for this pedal works very well. I like to get that early break up sound,(Hendrix type rhythm tone) which channel one on this pedal does very well, and a very natural warm overdriven lead tones. This pedal is very true to its name "classic," it gives some very nice late 60's -70's rock tones. I gave it a 3.5 for features because the eq is somewhat limited, it has a good curve but you have to like it for what it is because there's not a lot of variation. If you're looking for a more modern scooped or "v" curve tone this is not you're pedal, (maybe try the twin tube mayhem). But for creamy vintage tube tone this thing is great. This pedal allows you to play with the feel of cranked tubes without all the extra volume so it works well for all sizes of venues, or just for practice levels. One of my favorate things here is the feel that this unit has. It is very spongy and touch sensative. If you set the gain right it cleans up very nicely just from playing softer and bites more when you dig in, and cleans up very well with the volume knob on the guitar, pretty cool for a pedal.

Powerful and Flexible

I run an electric semi hollow guitar into a loop station and go direct to PA for gigs. This is currently the only signal booster I'm using to give the electric some tone. Between the two channels, I get most of what I need which is pretty amazing considering I'm not using a guitar amp. The tone is warm, fuzzy and of course not as juicy / meaty as it would be through an amp but pretty good nonetheless. These tubes definitely take a little while to warm up and peak. The tones get much more palpable after the pedal has cooked for an hour or two. Definitely play one first like anything else tone-related, see if its a mate for your gear.

Dull

I just got this pedal in the mail today and it took about 2 minutes to be seriously dissapointed with it. The problem is that it sounds so dull. Even with the bass EQ turned all the way down and the treble maxed out it just doesn't have any tone in the mid or high range. I know what I'm talking about and wish I hadn't read the other 40 reviews here raving about this pedal. The tubes distort well but unless you want to totally change the EQ on your amp then this won't have any of the tone you are looking for. I put this next to my EH English Muffin (which absolutely smoked it), Paul Cochrane Tim pedal, Hermida Zendrive, and TS808. I play through a Bruno Cowtipper 90 and Bruno UG30 with power attenuators on both. This pedal sucks. Get a used English Muffin for any type of soft crunch to full on rip. Better yet, if you want classic distortion start pushing a 6v6 tube amp until it rips.

Warmth

This a really great unit. The warmth is truly amazing (can't beat tubes!) Anyone who does not like the sound of this has either a poor amp, or poor ability. Although I do have a couple of issues, the footprint is rather large, and in less than a year the tubes went, and I was not gigging heavily with it. Overall, quite satisfactory.
