Still my fave after a decade...

My wife followed me into an Athens (GA, USA) music shop, I needed some picks and strings. She looked at guitars while I chatted with my buddies in the store, and then asked me to play an S-12 +Cedar Seagull for her - she had never seen me play a 12-string. After about 20 minutes, she was asking, "Do you want it?", "You should get it..." She bought it for me that day, it was second-hand, but like new, and we got a great deal. I have a fantastic old Epiphone, and a wonderful Martin, but there's just something about this Seagull that sounds, and feels so great. It's my favorite guitar, and always sounds great - and stays in tune as good as my other two guitars - a plesant surprise.

The Seagul S12 is almost everything you could ask for in a 12 string. The tones are amazing, Real high quality wood and the guitar looks almost as amazing as it sounds. If you are a fan of playing acoustic shows, this guitar resonates like a god. Best buy I have made on guitars in at least ten years.

I bought mine just over a week ago -- it's the first 12-string I've owned, although I've played quite a few at the music store. Absolutely the most incredible instrument I've played. Picked it up and got a perfect "Stairway" sound right away -- I've never gotten a perfect sound that quickly before. Strings are close enough you can fret them easily, but just enough space that you can pluck them individually for leads. The action's not bad -- I have trouble with some acoustics, I'm used to an electric neck, but downtuned a half-step and capo'd its fine. I don't gig or anything but everyone who's heard it has commented on the great sound. Totally worth it -- it's already my favorite instrument.

I have played a lot of 12 strings. The Breedlove AC25012 is only for plug in play. The Martin DM12 has a nice bass response but costs $800 or more. The Seagull S12 is incredible mid-range to high end response. It has more chime than boom but is incredibly playable with extra light Nanowebs. Change the saddle to bone and you will be glad to you did.
