The Studio model is the flagship of Seagull's Artist Series guitars. Many luthiers consider the combination of rosewood back and sides with a spruce top to be the standard that all other wood combinations are measured against. With rich sound and ample dynamics and projection, the Seagull Studio guitar is equally at home on stage and in more intimate fully acoustic settings. The Seagull Studio is also an exceptional choice for recording.

The neck on this guitar is it's strongest points for me. I have fat fingers and the extra width means more accurate chords with out muted notes for me. The neck is thin and fast. The setup is superb! I do my own setups and this is the first guitar I ever bought that didn't need any tweeking. The tone is good, tight bottom, well defined mids and highs, very well balanced. I can't wait for this box to age.

A master's authoritative analysis

This is the sweetest sounding acoustic guitar that I have ever had the pleasure of strumming and finger-picking the blues on. You have to swap out the original bridge pins for ebony ones. This adds depth to the low end, smooths out the midrange and adds richness to the high notes. Do it and you'll be very pleasantly surprised with the difference. The guitar has the best response of anything next to an Ovation, but a much richer and fuller tone. This means that you can do Yngwie or Van Halen speed picking classical lead solos on this guitar and sound like you're playing a much more expensive guitar. The workmanship is fantastic. The Artist Studio for absolutely certain and 100% has a) Solid Rosewood sides and back, and b) A solid mahogany neck. Revel in your ownership of this guitar; you'd have to pay $2200 to get anything close to it from Martin or Guild.

Seagul Artist Seties Studio Acoustic Guitar

Contrary to jamesroc's review, this guitar does not have solid wood sides, but that takes nothing away from the quality and tone of the guitar. I have a s6+ spruce that I have owned for around 10 years, and it gets better with age. I play my Seagull a lot more often than my Gibson j-100 xtra. I played this guitar, and it didn't let me down. Great guitar, both mellow and brite in tone.

I bought this guitar a week ago. I pulled it out of the box and it was in tune and ready to go. I can't say how much I love this guitar. It is better then any acoustic guitar I have ever played and owned. You won't be sorry.

This is awesome piece that Godin/Seagull came up with. Solid wood all the way around: Spruce top, Rosewood back and sides. Rosewood neck is fast. I have thicker fingers than most, so I definitely think the wider neck is cool. I had an S6 original, which is nice too, and traded that and another for this guy at a local shop. The one I got has an I Beam which I recommend if you plug in. If you want to upgrade and don’t want to pay for a name reputation, this guitar is solid.
