Great Value in Midrange Guitar

After putting new strings on this great little guitar, and getting the action down to a reasonable gap it became quickly apparent that this was a real keeper of a guitar. SOLID wood front, back and sides. Tusq nut and saddle, great gold colored tuners/cream colored knobs are not only beautiful but functional as well. Great guitar for the money.

Do your self a BIG favour and get your hands on one of these while you still can. And you won't be disappointed. And you won't be in the poorhouse, either. Terrific sound and craftsmanship. Get the Tric case, you won't regret it, best guitar case ever. OK, I live a 45 minute drive from where they make them, have been playing 40+ years and owned Takamine, Norman, Yamaha, Guild, etc., but this is easily the sweetest deal for the money I've ever seen, hands down. And you'll have cash leftover as down payment for that archtop that's on the back burner.

Looks Great, Sounds Okay...

I agree...great looking and well built guitar. I was intrigued by the all solid woods, price, and Seagull brand, as I also have a S6 Burst GT Q1 (great guitar), so I purchased one. As these things usually work, soon after I was presented the opportunity to buy a barely used Martin DM at a great price. I thought the Mahogany Spruce sounded good until I bonded with the Martin, but now in comparison mine sounds somewhat muffled and stiff. I do like Seagull and believe they offer good value...maybe I just got a 'dead' one.

Spectacular Guitar

This is not just a great guitar "for the money". It is a great guitar, period.

With "played in" phosphor bronze mediums, the tone is well balanced with surprisingly good (but not "boomy") bass, full-bodied mids, and bell-clear highs, all with amazing sustain. Intonation was beautifully typical Seagull. The compound curve top and resultant lighter bacing delivered as promised.

Most surprisingly, the volume was big but not strident. Bluegrass is loud, but the Seagull held its own, easily getting over the top of a Thomas banjo and Collings mandolin.

Playability was butter smooth, easy, fast, and clean. Cosmetically, the guitar is just beautiful.

Seagull really delivered, and at a crazy price-point. Whatever those Canadians in LaPatrie are doing, it works! Kudos for carrying this great guitar.

I played this guitar today. Very beautiful and an awesome deal for solid woods. Craftsmanship is excellent. BUT, when strumed, the guitar sounded trapped compared to other spruce / mahogany guitars. I opted to purchase a Martin Custom D Classic Rosewood. Hope this helps in your purchase decision.
