I have owned this guitar for the past 7 years now and i have loved it ever since i pulled it out of the box. I swapped the pick ups out for a Gibson BurstBucker 1 in the neck and a BurstBucker 2 in the bridge and the improvement was phenomenal, the stock pick ups arent bad if youre a beginner but the point is that with a simple swap out you have a professional grade guitar for almost half the price. I do plan on making and upgrade to a Gibson Les Paul Studio soon but this guitar will still be played live. Its been with my through my first band and its still going strong today. Strong reccomendation for beginners and professionals alike. Schecter really knows what they are doing!!!

I have owned several guitars over the years and the Schecter Omen 6 has become my favorite in the two weeks I have owned it. With a good amp and some effects, you can get a good sound out of it for just about any style. Obviously, guitars costing a couple thousand dollars are made with higher quality, but for the low price of this guitar, it's simply amazing. It sounds very good with lots of sustain, stays in tune well, and it looks & feels great. In my opinion, this is a fantastic guitar right out of the box and then possibly upgrade later with premium components like pickups and tuners.

I keep seeing the word "metal guitar" in all the other reviews. Sure, Omen 6 is a pretty heavy name, but this guitar can do so much more! I'm in a band that plays punk, funk, jazz and metal a la Mr. Bungle, Faith No More and Dillinger Escape Plan and this is the ONLY guitar that can do it all! The stock pickups aren't worth much, but I dropped a Seymour Duncan SH-6 in the bridge and I've been getting a sound for about four years now that I love.

Also, My favorite thing about this guitar is that it's INDESTRUCTABLE! I've thrown it into ceiling fans, smashed it into drum racks and even puked on it and it's still singing. I only had one small mishap when I cracked the neck, but I just swapped the neck out with a second Omen 6 and glued it back together. Good as new!

This was my first guitar, and at first, I loved it. As I progressed with my music, I realized that it's not as good as I first thought. Granted, it's a pretty good guitar, if you're just starting out. but you'll definately want to switch up later on. It has some tone issues past the 12th fret, and the tuning seems to slip every so often. If you're first starting out, want something cheap, you COULD consider this guitar. But if you're past being a novice, try a few other guitars.

When I first got this guitar, I thought one thing to myself "how metal!". after playing it, I feel even more strongly. This guitar has been great to me, and I have owned it for at least a year. The Distortion and Treble on it are simply amazing.
