The body of the Hellraiser V-1 FR Electric Guitar not only looks awesome, but allows you unhindered access to the 25-1/2" scale mahogany set neck with Ultra access that is fitted with a rosewood fingerboard set with 24 extra-jumbo frets.

The Schecter Hellraiser V-1 features electronics that are unsurpassed. In the Bridge position, an EMG-81 TW has a dual-mode design that gives you all the crunch and aggressiveness of the original EMG-81 plus a single-coil sound with a fatter tone with plenty of punch and clarity. Dual internal preamps, one tuned for single-coil mode and the other for dual-coil mode, give the 81TW two distinct sounds. An EMG-89 in the neck position also has separate preamps each providing custom outputs for both dual coil and single coil modes. The 89 is loaded with Alnico V magnets for a vintage strat sound. The different modes are accessed through push/pull volume pots. Together these pickups give you a range of tones that will surprise you and your audience. An Original Floyd Rose Tremolo will help you create hellish effects without going out of tune.

The Hellraiser V-1 guitar has black chrome hardware, gray pearl binding, and gothic cross inlays that all add to the dark vibe of this demonically inspired Schecter guitar.

This guitar is an awesome axe, and is one of my favorites in my small collection. It is a tone monster thanks to the mahogany body, maple top and modern features. In addition, it looks fantastic and the original floyd rose is solid and works great. It is everything I wanted in a 'flying v' and then some. Setup from factory was awesome as well, smooth well dressed frets and great action! Thanks Schecter!

One Great V

This is an amazing guitar with great tone and fret access. The coil tapped EMGs are a neat feature. The guitar looks great with its abalone binding and "Gothic Cross" inlays. It has a German made Floyd Rose Tremolo instead of the cheaper china made ones. It's built to shred and is one the best guitars on the market today. I keep mine tuned down 5 half steps at the standard BARITONE tuning "B,E,A,D,F#,B" and the frets stay at the correct intonation. Also I have the "Black Cherry" finish on mine, I hate that they don't have a picture of it on here because it's definitely worth looking at.

Try it before you buy it. I should have.

First things first, this is a beautiful guitar. No denying it. But let's get down to business. It is uncomfortable. The neck dives like a skydiver who needs to find a bathroom. Standing and playing for extended periods of time is extremely uncomfortable (No, I'm not a sissy. Try it and see what I mean). I was able to remedy the neck heaviness with a wide leather strap, but the discomfort is noteworthy. Don't let the name of the pickups fool you : They are not EMG quality. The tone is thin and muddy compared to the EMG's I have in my other guitar. However, the cleans are very nice. The coil tapping feature is useless because the sound is already thin. It's like going from stale crackers to thin air. Also, for a metal and shred guitar the neck is thick - Thicker than the neck on say a Schecter S-1. I'm sure better pickups would make me feel much better about this guitar, but out of the box I'd say it's not worth the price you have to pay. It's not a horrible guitar, but certainly not a great guitar for the money. Try before you buy.

Sounds good but uncomfortable to play

The EMGs with coil tapping provide a lot of great sounds, however, it is very uncomfortable to play. It's neck heavy, which given the Floyd on the bottom, I don't understand. And even when I manager to stop the neck from dropping, the way it sat on my shoulder it's like I was picking near my left bicep. My neck hurt from looking so far left when I played. I've played many V's and own an Ibanez V Blade and none were like this. Somewhere the design is off. I had to return it. Try before you buy.

I don't have this guitar but it is mine in the spring. Bang for the buck - it has 2 (TWO) F'ing tappable super-hot EMGs, an Original Floyd Rose and the Black Cherry looks like the closest thing to hot sex without panties. C'mon, its a steal. I have an EC-1000 in Black Cherry and its luscious, but its an older and has two 81s in it and no trem. I'm getting this to really go full-bore metal without wearing down my shoulder (EC-1000 sounds thick and is as heavy as its sound). Also, the taps will allow for ALOT more flexability in terms of tone. I can't wait!
