I just got one of these brand new and I am very happy with it. It looks and feels great. The photos here don't to justice to the carved top and the binding(which looks like more of a vintage off-white). With the coil tap available on both pickups this thing is extremely versatile. The Duncans are amazing BTW. I also own the Damien 7 which I modified with active EMG's and use mostly just for home practice and this Blackjack blows it away. The clean tones are friggin sweet and the Overdriven sound is perfect...equal to EMG's in both sustain and punch but with a more organic feel. The neck on this thing is surprisingly thin too. It's just slightly thicker than an Ibanez. Plays really fast. The only complaint I have is that the action was too low on mine so it was buzzing a bit. Had to raise the bridge and adjust the saddles. Also I gave a 4.5 on features just because it seems like with all the great stuff Schecter put into this guitar they could've included cooler inlays than the boring dots they have on it. With my luck they'll come out with a special edition Blackjack with that feature in another month from now. Overall, best guitar I've owned so far. Highly recommend it.

This guitar is great. Definitely the best deal for a 7 string with passive pickups.
Get this guitar, It's worth it.

The neck plays like my LP standard, practically speaking. It arrived with no string buzzes on the neck, and the action was perfect. Only problem I found was while replacing the JB with a DiMarzio Evolution. JB fit easily into the pickup cavity... But the Evolution was 1/2 millimeter too long, and required a slight *shove* to install. probably not a big deal for most. awesome guitar!!!

OMG.... I've owned this axe for about a month now. It is my first seven string, but I've owned half a dozen 6 strings, from beginner Deans to top-quality Schecters. I have to admit, I am biased toward Schecter- I last owned a C-1 Hellraiser FR and it is a "10" across the board. I sold it to get this guitar, and I am infintely pleased with my choice. The neck on the blackjack is so narrow and flat, it rivals any Ibanez neck. And unlike any Ibanez 7, it is a set-neck, mahogany body and maple neck. The neck is smooth, fast, and provides immense sustain. Plus, it is a baritone (26.5" scale) and the string tension this provides is AMAZING for down-tunings. I play in D standard (ADGCFAD) with a distinct style that is heavily influenced by Dino Cazares of Fear Factory. I only play metal with it, so I can't speak to it's usefulness for jazz, blues, etc. It has a 5-way pickup switch (coil-tap for both humbuckers.) I use the pickups differently than one might expect- I use the bridge PU, a REAL Duncan (not Duncan designed) SH-4 JB for all my rhythm parts, mainly because it picks up the low A string much better than the neck pickup, a Duncan SH-1 '59. IMHO, the SH-1 is a very boring pickup. I mostly use it for clean parts and parts with effects. I play thru a Line 6 POD XT PRO, with an MXR 10-band EQ for tweaking, and Mesa/Boogie 20:20 poweramp and Fender MH412 cab. I get a TREMENDOUS metal tone through this setup. I know Dino exclusively played Ibanezes with EMGs while with Fear Factroy, but I honestly can't tell my own tone apart from his on the album "Demanufacture." Anyhow, this guitar is awesome and will prolly be my last guitar. It is beautiful as much as it is plyable; the creme binding throughout the neck, headstock, and body upon a gloss black finish is really stunning. I'm not usually a fan of black guitars, but this axe sets me apart onstage. My only beef with this guitar is the boring neck PU; I will switch it out for a Duncan Distortion in the near future.

I've had this guitar over two years now and still love it. The first thing that gets me is that every time I pick up my LP, I've got to retune the thing, but the Blackjack is always in tune. This thing was a Christmas present, and I'd never played it before hand, but it played beautifully out of the box. Carved top with vintage binding...looks great. Also that fact that it doesn't come with "Duncan designed" pups, but an actual '59/JB set is pretty cool, and they sound great. I have put an air Norton in my neck, and am considering a drop sonic in the bridge to accommodate my heavier playing. They only down is that the neck is a bit big, but that's in comparison to my paper thin RG.
