I have the Schecter C1+, which was made in 2006. This is the closest thing Schecter currently offers. It is my best axe, and I have been almost strictly a Fender player for years. My version has a coil tap which comes in handy once in awhile. It's like having six pickup combinations. The tone is unmatched - rich, deep, fat...and with a pop of the knob it can be clean and articulate. Where in times past I have used Strats for recording, my newest album adopted this guitar as the main man.

Oh, and I have never had a guitar that kept tune more easily. You can bend the crud out of this axe and it will still ask for more. Last winter I dropped the guitar on its face (dumb mistake). I thought it was finished. The neck was cracked up by the heel of the head and I figured it would never be the same. WRONG! It *STILL* stays in perfect tune. I dare a Gibson man to try that with his Les Paul. Incredible.

I'd take this over a Gibby any day. Well done, Schecter - you've won my respect in guitars!

I bought this guitar about 4-5 months ago, and I love it! I was using a knock off Les Paul before with EMG 81/85 pickups, which I loved, through a solid state Carvin combo. At first I was disappointed with the dirty channel, so I replaced the bridge pup with a Seymour Duncan Invader. After playing that for a while I realized I didn't like that either, so I out the JB back in. Recording that guitar sounds awesome, and just fine tuning it for distortion is all I needed. The playability of this guitar is astounding. The wide C shape of the neck is wonderful for fast playing along to accompany the jumbo frets. The binding and inlays are beautiful, but takes some getting used to, as I have never had them on a guitar. The bridge works wonderfully, I leave my Schecter in my basement and it never goes out of tune, unless I change strings. Whether you're playing metal or punk, indi or emo, solid state or tubes; this is a great guitar to have!

The Schecter C-1 Artist Limited Edition is an excellent choice for those looking to play various genres. I myself use it for jazz, blues, hard rock, electronica and even metal. Plus, it looks beautiful up close. The neck is very comfortable to play on too. This is a must-have for any guitarist who's not hooked onto any particular brand. A few issues: positions 2 and 4 on the pickup selector sound very similar so you get effectively get only 4 sounds, and the tone knob doesn't affect the sound between 2 'o clock and 10 'o clock.

Probably the best guitar you'll ever own

This is one of the sweetest deals you'll ever get and one of the finest guitars you'll ever play. The quality is exceptional. The pickups by themselves would almost cost you as much as the guitar. Set neck (not neck thru) STRING THRU.... Anyways, it plays like buter the action and intionation is PERFECT right out of the box. Try getting that in a $3000 Les Paul...(it will NEVER happen) Schecter builds some of the nicest guitars on the market today and it is made in South Korea NOT China. This is by far the best buy on the planet, a PROFFESIONAL axe. I wouldn't trade mine for a 12 pound Les Paul in a million years. Don't pay for a name...pay for QUALITY and you will not find better than this in ANY brand.
