I keep all my bigger amps and stuff out in my garage with my drum set, and I keep the Roland Micro Cube in my room so I can kick out the jams at any time of the day. For a little guy, it's got some power behind it. The distortion is what you'd expect from something like this, okay not great, and the effects are pretty good and the tone sounds pretty good. It doesn't sound too good when I hook up my Boss ME-50 and put some distortion on it, though. All and all it really is a great practice and/or travel amp.

Excellent practice amp

I just bought this amp at a mega-sale at our local cool music store. I bought it and a mini-strat for my young daughter to begin teaching her guitar (beyond her "toy") accoustic. I began setting everything up and bam...I was blown away by the clean tone. Very nice. The various effects sound great and everything is designed very cleverly. I WISH they had this when I started playing!!! My only wish is that the reverb was independent of the delay...so you could have both at once. No matter...heckuva amp and deal.

Another Use For It

This amp is great for it's obvious use as a very portable amp. I was using it also as an fx unit for my larger amp. But...Here's one more. If on stage, you run a 1/4" jack from the headphone out with an XLR adapter on the other end to a PA system. It shuts the amps speaker off. Turn the volume up near full to give the sound man all the signal he needs. What you then have is a more versatile DI box with the amp modeling and effects still in your control. The sound man can use the PA to fill the room and monitors, but you can still select the sounds right there. This has worked great and simplified my gear down tremendously.

Very good little practice amp

I bought this amp after reading other reviews. It is a very good little practice amp. Perfect for practice use it won't blow the walls down. Although it does produce a fairly loud sound for 2 watts. (How'd they do that?) If you like different sounds without the use of extra pedals and, if you don't want to bother your neighbors, buy this amp. Plus, it can operate on batteries, making it extremely mobile. Thanks Roland!

Whether you're a beginner or advanced, you can't go wrong with this amp. It has the nicest guitar effects I have seen on an amp. There is distortion, reverb, delay and clean and flange. It is great. Just by it. Perfect for the money. Can't get a better deal on a small amp.
