Fills up a restaurant with no problem!

I use the Roland Street nightly to play at small and medium sized restaurants and bars. It always fills up the place. Lots of places I have to turn down. The sound is BIG, full, and clear. It's simply amazing that Roland can do this with such a light, cheap little box.

Ultimate Portability

Well, I read a lot of reviews for this thing before I got it, but I'm a skeptic until I get a hands's-on. I expected it to be a bit thin with 6.5" drivers, but was very pleased with the sound coming out of it. I normally use the onboard effects of a SpiderIII or an RP-1000 through a keyboard amp so I am used to synthesized tone. The Street Cube for its obvious limitation, delivers a good variety of sound in a very small and powerful package.

I am definitely impressed with the sound this puts out. And even more suprising is the weight. The thing is about the size of a cinder block, but weighs in a just a few pounds. It is truly hard to believe that 6 AAA batteries puts out this volume. I've played it a lot since I got it last week, and have yet to run down the juice. I'm sure the "15 hours" of play time is optomistic, but it easily lasts several hours at loud volume.

The FX are good. There are three basic flavors - several amp styles, chorus/delays and reverb. These plus the gain control gives you a pretty wide palette to play with. It wasn't too long ago that these FX alone would have cost more than this amp. You can get as clean as you want or crank it to the max. It's just a very versatile box.

I bought this to play some light blues for an outdoor wedding, where A/C was not available. Jack in an MP3 and you're good to play along with tracks. Truly the most fun piece of gear I've gotten in a long time. I don't expect to get rid of it, and with Roland quality, that means it'll be with my gear for a long time. Street Musician? - Don't bother looking anywhere else.

Great little Amp

I needed a practice amp, I looked long and hard trying to find one that would fit all my needs. Small easy to carry, able to play my MP3 Player threw it, While playing to the music, and using my microphone at the same time. Also portability with out plugging it in to A/C outlet, this thing is built like a tank, plus has all sorts of tonal possibilities. Its ideal for a one-room audience, anywhere that it may be, lake, cookouts, street corners, in my van traveling down the road, the possibilities are endless. I’m so happy with my choice, (you don’t get much these days worth anything) I feel this amp is worth what you pay for it. Battery life is great as well I have not used the supplied ac cord yet or changed batteries yet either.

Great Portable Amp - for a price

I first got the micro cube (and still love it) but wanted a litle more power. The street delivers the power and with a few aa batteries (that seem to last forever)you can take it anywhere. It does cost a bit more than other non-portable practice amps but you are paying for portable power. The second mic input is a great bonus too. The only oddity (and it causes a rather big problem) are the controls on the slanted cab . Even though the slant is really great for projecting sound from the ground, when putting the amp in front of you to see the dials on the slanted top and back they all appear upside down. If you put it behind you then you can't see the controls at all. I am actually surprised no one else has mentioned this. Otherwise, it's a great product for small gigs and camping.

Was always looking for a unit I could bring with me... the Street Cube fits well with this thought. Can go audio/guitar all in one unit and do it extremely well. My hat is off to Roland and the Street Cube which is a nice upgrade from the Micro Cube the first portable I had purcashed.
