A marvel for its price, the traditional dreadnought design makes for one very playable guitar with a great, full tone. Perfect for strumming or fingerpicking any style of music, it's no wonder this guitar has been so highly rated by our customers. Features a genuine spruce top, die-cast tuning machines, 25-1/2" scale nato neck, and bound rosewood fretboard. It's easy to tune and stays that way. Rich, resonant sound and excellent projection and intonation make this a first guitar to be proud of. It's also great for camping or as a second guitar. Each guitar ships with genuine Martin strings for a quality sound right out of the box.

Let's put it this way: if you can play you'll make this guitar sound awesome...if you suck at it then go get a Martin or a Taylor at least to hear a nicer tone.

Good for a short time

I got this guitar as a Christmas present back in early December of 08. I was thrilled because I had been trying to get my hands on a guitar for the past few years, but couldn't because I wasn't employed.

I loved this guitar at first, but after I began understanding the differences between a well crafted instrument and some hunk of junk with strings attached, I started to despise this guitar. The action is a lot higher than the $3000 Martin acoustic I played (which was the best guitar I've ever laid hands on). The neck is uncomfortable and sticky if you spend an extended amount of time on it. It doesn't stay in tune well, and when it is in tune, it's not that way for long.

Overall, it's good if you're a beginner. If you've been around the block, save up and get something more reliable.

Not a bad guitar

This guitar is actually pretty good, all things considered. however, if your a stickler about certain things, its not so good. for me, the action was kinda high, and, the strings were veerrry tight (however, im also used to the lower tension of shorter scaled guitars like the seagull s6... which may be the best guitar ever). the tuners were kinda bad too, they didnt hold a tuning for very long (though not terrible, it was not up to my standards). this guitar is also hard to tune thanks to the string tension. the top is laminated so it doesnt sound as good as it can; however, for a laminated top, it sounds exceptional. this guitar would be good for a beginner, but the high string tension on this guitar is a real set back. guitars like the yamaha fg700s or 720s are a better choice. they have solid tops and satin necks, which are huge pluses.
