Top Right-facing

With a monstrously heavy sound, the Rocktron Zombie Rectified Distortion Pedal creates an asymmetric distortion with user control of the symmetry balance of the distortion output waveform. In essence, this creates the psycho-acoustic 3-D sound positioning effect that will make your sound jump out of the cab. The Zombie gives you distortion that cuts through the mix, plus a 2-band EQ.

The Stare control increases and decreases distortion symmetry. The Scream control adjusts the rectified distortion. The Louder control adjusts the overall output of the Zombie pedal. The EQ section includes Bass and Treble controls.

The Zombie effects pedal is a great choice when used with an all-tube guitar amplifier to deliver rectified distortion. It can take a plain-sounding tube amp and produce rectified distortion that rivals the sound of the most expensive amplifiers. This monstrously heavy sound will cut through the mix and deliver amazing tone! The Zombie features Rocktron's easy-access battery compartment to make changing batteries during a gig a breeze.

Rocktron Zombie Rectified Distortion Pedal Features:

  • Rectified asymmetric distortion
  • 3-D sound positioning effect
  • Stare control adjusts distortion symmetry balance
  • Scream control adjusts rectified distortion level
  • Louder control adjusts overall output
  • 2-band EQ
  • Rocktron's easy-access battery

You'll swear your sound gets right up and walks out of your cabinet! Order the Zombie today!

Somewhat disappointed

I've had this pedal for about a year now and really enjoy the quality of sound through this pedal. I run this pedal in front of two setups. One being a crate head and half-stack. The other being an original 65' Fender Deluxe Reverb. It sounds great through both, and has plenty of "chunk" through the half-stack. However, it has seen what I would consider low to medium use and went on the fritz in the middle of our last show. When I step on the switch, it sometimes comes on and sometimes goes off. I figured it was a bad switch and replaced it to no avail. This only leads me to believe that the issue could be in the board. Simple soldering is my limit so I'm on the looks for something else. Great while it lasted though.

It is a good pedal and it had really rugged construction, but the sound isnt really that good. It isnt "monsterously heavy" it's pretty mids-heavy. what you really want to do is ue your amp's eq or an eq pedal with this to get a good sound of it. It is really good to switch over to it from your amps distortion for a guitar solo, because it cuts thru the mix. overall, not bad, not super-awesome, but not bad.

Great - even on my solid state

I took a chance on this one to put it in front of an Ashdown mini-stack that I keep in the family room (I'm an amp in every room type guy), and it sounds fantastic.

It is true that the Stare control has nominal affect on a solid state, but the distortion still sounds great - at least on my amp.

I have modeling, all tube, and hybrid amps (Cybertwin) that I'll check it out on in due time, but for now it's going to stay right where it is. I'll probably pick up a Valve Junior or Blackheart Little Giant to replace the Ashdown head in the near future. Great pedal at a great price!

Read Before Buying

This is a great pedal but please read what its about before you buy it. Do not buy it if you think you can hook this up to your Marshall MG100 and sound like a Mesa Dual Rect. I have a Valveking head and this sounds great in front of it. Very Transparent and warm when the heads bright switch is disengaged. But I played this in front of my Peavey Express combo and other solid states and it does not come close. NOT MONSTER gain but enough to get some KSE and Shadows Fall Style Distortion. Listen to their guitars, Very Transparent and that is the key. So please try this with a Tube amp and not a solid state because it will be 2 different sounds. Scale Back the gain on this and very nice over driven tone. Very Bluesy almost.

Every body says this pedal only works well with tube amps. Not True. I play progressive hard rock through my Zombie and an Epiphone Triggerman 100 half stack. I am playing a Jay Turser custom SG style guitar as well as a kit Les Paul. Both deliver huge chunky tone through this pedal. With it's affordable price tag and great tone you cant go wrong.
