I was dissapointed with this product. The sounds are pretty good and transparent; although, i have noticed a hiss when i play clean. The unit thins out my amps tone severely, even with the eq section bypassed. Two of the knobs have stopped turning. If i didn't have the MIDI mate i couldn't use the unit at all. A few times now, while adjusting parameters, the unit has just shut off. The blue flashing light is annoying. Do not buy this unit. I've used rocktron products for a while. They just cheaped out on this one. I have a marshall tsl/jackson rhoads v/gibson sg/fender strat. All of my gear is top end and this thing won't cut it

I am familiar with Rocktron and the history so I was looking at some options for my Two Fender 5150 III Heads. I also wanted to get rid of some clutter with Floor Pedals so I wanted to try this unit and compare it with what I was doing. After about a week I have decided to put my Pedals away! At least for now. I still run the Paul Gilbert Flanger on the floor with a Vox Satriani waw. Love that waw! But the Xpression is looped in series with my Sonic Maximizer and into one of my two stacks. The other stack is dry. The delays are beautiful and transparent. Learning to program the Rocktron is well worth it. make sure you choose Guitar and then choose levels and either also choose Mono or Stereo in the Mix when you program effects. Running this thing through the loop is all I need. Except for a Midimate to call up effects which is coming as soon as I can. If Ihad anything to change with it I would say maybe the color of it. This is totally unimportant but I would have gone with Black like the previous models and maybe called it a Cobra or a Black Mumba with a cool Logo... but thats just no matter at all considering it's transparent sound. The flashing light doesn't bother me at all in my rack. I like Lights in my rack anyway...the flashing light reminds me of a Fighter Jet. Since people actually complain about a light flashing... Rocktron backs it up for three years. This unit has more than the last model in it and I love what it does for me in my rig. 5150III with two of the matching cabs!! Trust me,...for me to go ahead and put my pedals away....It does the trick. If it breaks I will get another one. I also have had no trouble with those poping sounds that some people mentioned. So far so good...

Rocktron really could be asking a lot more for this processor. It only has one down side, the programing of effects is changing the origanal ones it came with (you can set them back though) and you have to scroll through the knobs a lot to tweak out your sound, thus a lot of time spent working instead of playing. The sound is killer though!!! Clean and more than enougheffects to keep you busy for a long time! It is everything you could want in an affordable effects processor.

I am very pleased with this product, when I first got it I had a little trouble understanding the features of the rocktron midimate foot controller I have to go with it. But once I figured it out I am very excited about it.

All the effects sound amazing and I am very pleased with the transparentness of the unit when I turn off all the effects. I run a marshall jcm800 and/or jcm2000 dsl live with this and I love it to death.

To be honest I was skeptical about it at first...I'm a bit of one of those tubefreaks so the thought of a multieffects processor scares me but once I got it hooked up in my rack setup I was very impressed.

Now my tone is much more versital, with a quick foot stomp I can change parametric EQ settings along with endless effects and I love the fact that you can set each preset to have different noisegate and compression settings. No more crappy sounding choppy cleans for me when I try to keep my jcm800 quiet under loud stage volumes

As a side note, most of the presets arent all that great but the liefson flanger setting and the pantera preset sound exactly like their tones through my setup, I was amazed at how much I can shape my sound without changing guitars or amps.

this is and awsome effects unit. this is an updated version of what judas priest use live. i was always messing with my tone every day but then i got this. now every day i love my tone and others do to it sounds amazing. no more stompboxes all you need is a midi board to controll for stage. if kk and tipton use it it must be good. just have to learn how to use it becasue it is very difficult at first. but once you know how your going to be golden. it doesnt have distortion so jus buy like a boss overdrive and you are set.
