Fantastic Pedal!

When trying out pedals I was relatively sure on which direction my music playing was heading. I was looking for a distortion pedal with diversity for metal, classic rock and even stretching to pop punk and green day-esque stuff.
The Rocktron Rampage provides me with excellent diversity with no sound quality lost.
I'd have to say the scoop function is a person favourite of mine, allowing me to keep bass and treble presets but with a turn of a dial going from The Offspring/Blink 182 right up to Metallica/Ozzy Osbourne.
I Highly recommend this product, it is both excellent value for money and brilliant sound and build quality.

I just bought this pedal today at a local shop. I have to say, it was incredible. It was used, so it had the old chasis, which I think is cooler looking and more sturdy, and it sounded the exact same as the new one they had. The lack of a gain knob doesn't bother me because by turning the sustain down also turns the gain down a little bit. It is absolutely terrible if you want it for blues, but for a more edgy classic rock sound, Led Zeppelin for example, it is awesome. You want classic Heavy Metal, Judas Priest or Iron Maiden for example, you can get amazingly heavy tones that are perfect. Anything else other than blues, if you just mess with it a little bit, it is absolutely perfect

This is a great distortion pedal.Who needs a gain knob? Most good distortions don't have one(the electro-harmonix big muff for example). The EQ is nice but could have been a little better.Overall its a great tone for any distorted music, but it DOES get a little too much gain for 80's type metal/rock.

After buying a used Digitech "Death Metal" pedal that sounded terrible, I wanted a better distortion pedal. My roomate had a Digitech "Metal Master" that sounded great, but I wanted to try something different so I bought this. On its own it sounds better than the "Death Metal" pedal did, and it can produce some nice classic rock light distortion, but if the gain is turned up too much there's a lot of white noise. Also, the sustain is nice, but if the treble and sustain are both up at 75% with any gain at all, high notes produce a barely audible crackle that can be annoying if you let the note ring. Nevertheless, after a lot of tweaking of my amp's EQ and the settings on my pedals, this thing sounds great. It takes a lot of tweaking to find the right settings, but once you do, this pedal has a nice crunch to it that sounds great for power chords, and high notes sound beautiful. It still seems to lack bass on lower notes, but highs and mids sound great.
In my opinion, this pedal is best suited for some metal leads (Iron Maiden, older Metallica, some Pantera, etc) and it sounds fairly nice for classic rock if you turn down the gain. However, if you play a lot of very heavy stuff with a lot of bass, I would reccommend the Digitech Metal Master instead (the Rocktron pedal sounds lame with a 7-string).

The BEST distortion i've ever had

First i heard it on the sample in the Rocktron official site, then i bought it used, and as now it's my favourite distortion, the best I've ever tried (comparing with Boss,Zoom,Behringer,ecc).. it's great for heavy riffs, not if you're looking for a blues sound as overdrives... I just LOVE it anyway. Listen in the Rocktron official site,if you like that sample buy it,it has the same perfect sound (I use it with an AVT Marshall).
