Grab onto one of the world's foremost guitar preamps: The Rocktron Prophesy II! The depth is truly amazing and the control is top notch. This outstanding DSP processor provides the ultimate control over your tone and effects. It has an extremely fast, powerful, and drop-out-free DSP processing engine built around dual 24-bit/66MHz Motorola chips. Plus that processing core is surrounded by premium Analog Devices converters at each end, so you get maximum headroom, no clipping, and none of the conversion load is put upon the main processors. This multichip array delivers higher-quality sound than many of its competitors. On top of all this, the Prophesy II is packed with rippin' presets programmed by Rocktron endorsers, Dave Mustaine, Gary Hoey, Rusty Cooley, Jimi Bell, and more.

Preamp Section
The preamp section of the Prophesy features four channels each with their own distinct "voicings" to provide a vast array of desired tube amp sounds. Each voicing may be thought of as a "channel" and each channel has its own basic gain and master controls with bass, mid, treble and presence controls, all easily accessible with "real amp" knobs on the front panel, just like a regular amp head.

• Channel 1/Clean American replicates some of the most sought-after clean vintage tweed amps of the late 50s and 60s

• Channel 2/"Texas Blues" is a vintage tweed with a bit more "kick" and "bite" often heard from the famous southwest bluesers ala "Billy Gibbons, Stevie Ray, Eric Johnson, etc.

• Channel 3/"Vintage British" is a traditional "Plexi Style" tone offering some of the most dynamic rhythm tone available

• Channel 4/"Mega Drive" the ultimate quest for almighty heavy tone of modern music pumping out everything from early Van Halen to Megadeth and everything in between

The preamp section also features a parametric Pre EQ, which allows you to "pre-shape" your tone to simulate the characteristics of several different guitars (such as fine-tuning your single-coil pickup to sound more like a humbucker, etc.) as well as an additional parametric post EQ to add extra lows, high, or scoop out the mids. And if that's not enough, there's also a global parametric EQ to adjust the overall output of the Prophesy on all presets.

Effects Section
The effects section of the Prophesy is divided up into two sections, pre distortion (or pre-preamp), and post distortion (or post preamp) for unlimited configurations of effects. The pre-effects section features Wah, Compressor, HUSH(r), Pre-EQ, as well as one assignable effect of your choice.

The post-effects section provides ultra-transparent, high-quality effects which completely preserve the tone of the preamp-thick reverbs and lush choruses can be used without coloring the sound of the preamp's tone. Four assignable "effect blocks" allow you to assign 1 effect pre-preamp and 3 post preamp effects in any order you choose, including Phaser, Flanger, Chorus, Pitch Shift, Rotary Speaker, Ducker Delay, etc. Prophesy also features a versatile mixer section to control the mix between dry and wet signal output of every effect used in the preset.

If the effects in the Prophesy are not enough, Rocktron included a true stereo effect loop which may be assigned anywhere in the effect chain just like an internal effect. Want just an incredibly powerful effect processor? Just bypass the preamp section completely and use the Prophesy a stand-alone effect unit.

The ADSR (Attack/Decay/Sustain/Release) function features Rocktron's Pluck Detection patent-pending, and allows you to configure any of the Prophesy parameters to be controlled dynamically by each pluck of a guitar string. More about the ADSR as Guitar Player Magazine says: "it's an incredibly musical application that is very different from the usual expression-pedal tricks. You could do some groundbreaking stuff with this killer function!"

Other features include a visual representation of the assigned effects signal chain, preset title, the voicing (channel) being used, are all conveniently displayed on the first preset page. The buttons in the 16 button matrix show the effect status (in or out) as well as allow you to instantly jump to those effects' parameter pages for instant adjustment.

Of course, the Prophesy maintains the high quality operational features that Rocktron processors are well known for, such as glitch-free preset switching with no signal drop out or lag time and the most natural sounding effects.

I've spend thousands of dollars through the years on guitar electronics - processors - modelers - heads & cabinets and nothing has pleased my ear more than the Prophesy 2. It is an all-in-one solution for my playing needs. Squeeky clean to blistering distortion, it's all in there! You have to hear one to understand just what it can do. Once I heard it, I bought it and I haven't regretted my decision once.

Amazing Technology

Rocktron has taken the best of Bruce Egnater's tone, and the best of their previous DSP technology, and married the two together and came up with and amazing studio and live performance piece of guitar technology. I am a long time IED4, and TOL 100 and now his newly released Tourmaster Head iser as well. You an use the on board efx for other than guitar diret to DAW or thru an analog or digital desk to tape. I have been a fan of Gary Hoey for years now since the Endless Summer score, and he really nailed the best of the tones this thing can generate.

I saved all the presets of the original Prophesy and put my fav presets in the upper registers, and down loaded all the Prophesy II presets for the website and upgraded mine to a II via midi. Folks this thing is a beast now and I have the gamut from straight ahead jazz to modern jazz to country to rock to metal.

Like Gary Hoey, I run this in two Wet Dry Wet configurations into three custom 4x12s. If I want tighter tome I run it thru BBE 462s into MOSVAVLE 500 amps, if I want less tight reasonance I use my dual Marshall EL34 50/50 dual monoblck amps into 4x12s. The quest for tone ended here boys and girls. Best kept secret on the guitar Market.

This does not mean that I am chucking my two Peavey Rockmasters voiced differently tube from each other, or my Engl e530, or my JMP-1 or my Triaxis or my IE4 all with which I use a Lex PCM 96 and a TCE 2290 and an Eventide H8000 and a Digitech GSP 1101 for wet efx for the left and right thru a switcher and parallel processor true bypass interface.

My 24 Spacer Preamp Shock rack houses all of these as well as the Rocktron for live and studio work and all the BBEs and MOSVALVE and Tube power amps are housed in a separate Shock rack. The nice thing about the Prophesy is that when I need to call up something fast live, it's there already cooked and ready to play w/o the need for any additional external EFX. When the producer needs something fast in the studio it’s the same there. It covers 80 percent of my needs now, and all the rest are dial up for something very different altogether.

I cannot recommend this enough and am getting a second to download all my patches to. Kudos Rocktron. This should be at the top of anybody's wish list for the long term and long run if you are a professional. All the Jazz presets are to die for. Mine has been up and running for over six years now w/o a glitch.

I never claim to be a great musician, though after purchasing the Prophesy II, I feel I sound a lot better and my confidence has increased two fold. The 127 pre-set options are really nice, though you can make your own sounds by following the manuel(thats where I'm at). I'm so glad I waited a couple of weeks and saved my $$$ and made the investment on the Prophesy II than waste it on a cheaper version. The Rocktron Help line has been there for me when needed(the manuel thing ya know!!)LOL...

Rich and Amazing Sound

I picked up the Rocktron Prophesy II after hearing an audio demo of it and reading so many glowing reviews. I play a Gibson Les Paul Studio and a Charvel (San Dimas) Soloist through a Fender Blues Jr. / Line 6 Flextone II combo amp depending on the style of music I'm playing. The effects are fantastic - pitch shifting, harmonizer, incredible distortions, delays, wahhs, flange and chorusses. The Prophesy II can do it all. I'm very tough to please when it comes to distortions - and this unit beats the heck out my PodXT Live. There's no comparison..the richness and warmth of tone are astounding. It's a bit of an investment from a cost standpoint, but it's worth every penny.

Amazing

I've owned a lot of different effects processors/pedals over the years and my search for a great variety of amazing sounds has ended. The Prophesy II is incredible in every way. I run it through a Marshall EL-34 100/100 Power amp hooked into a Peavy Valveking 4x12 cabinet with various guitars including a Dean Dave Mustaine Signature V, Jackson DK2, Jackson KE, Les Paul Studio, and an ESP LTD M-400 and the sound just blows you away on all of them. You can choose from one of the 150 or so presets or totally design your own sound from scratch. The depth is incredible.

I cannot reccomend the Prophesy enough. It's amazing.
