The Rocktron Banshee 2 Talk Box gives you the ability to let the guitar signal feed your amplifier at the same time that the talk box effect is turned on! This way you get your normal guitar signal through your amp while the talk box effect runs through a mic (and your sound system).

Rocktron has brought an exciting dimension to talk boxes with the Banshee 2 by providing an effects loop that lets you add other effects into the talk box signal path, or through your guitar signal path at the same time! The original Banshee has served many players over the years with a modern version of the talk box. You've heard a talk box used on many famous recordings, from classic rock (Aerosmith, Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton) to contemporary rock (Bon Jovi, Disturbed) to hip-hop recordings and more.

The talkbox works very well. Powerful driver makes it a snap and the tube is plenty long. I just wish I had bought the cheaper basic version. They advertise this version as being able to allow effected signals, but you can just put the talk box at the end of your effects chain and get the same result for a lower price.

Also, the device is powered with a wallwart. At this price, it should have a normal plug with the dc converter inline instead of tying up 3 outlets on your power strip. They could have at least made the converter smaller and angled the plugs 90 degrees so that it would stick out sideways on the strip.

When i first plugged this thing in I thought it would be difficult and cumbersome to use, like all talk boxes... I was wrong. This Talk Box is extremely user friendly, and absolutely does not risk blowing up your head/combo. The "to amp" bypass feature, is absolutely natural sounding, with no audible loss of sustain, or coloration of tone, and the preamp section lets you dial in some absolutely blood curdling, screaming tone. My favorite thing so far is the sound of the feedback generated by placing the tube in close proximity to the strings of my guitar. The sound is absolutely every bit as terrifying as listening to Black Sabbath on acid! As of yet my tone still sounds a little too much like that of the talk box used on the Black Label Society Album "Mafia", but with an effects loop built in... chainin' up a graphic equalizer pedal should do the trick.

I have to say that this was one of the best effects I've ever had! I've been playing for 30 years and this effect is one of the few that does what it says it will. The hook up was just as easy as it stated. The ability to run different in line with my other pedals was great! The effects loop opens up so many doors that you can come up with some very cool voices. I recommend this product whole heartedly!
