This Amp is perfect for Metal/Hard Rock, the EQ's are balanced so you find your tone quick, let me start by saying I have an ESP w EMG's, a Tubescreamer, JD Crybaby and a XMS Mainsqueeze sustainer/compressor and the tones I get out of here Im very satisfied, if you're just a jammer that likes to play loud and to have fun then here it is. If you a recording musician look elsewhere, perhaps in the Tube amp section.

I've had this amp for about two weeks and I'm in love. For a combo, this thing rattles the windows and everything else in my room with the sweet lows and screaming harmonics. I believe that Randall has struck gold with this amps. Although tube dynamic, you can't get a better tube sound without paying the tube price. Definitely a solid performer and a keeper for my stables.

Randall Amplifiers are the Best

This is my 2nd Randall. My old one was basically the same thing, only not with the valve technology, probably made about fifteen years ago. 1X12, 80 watts. I abused that thing hard and loud for hundreds of jams and shows. It did the job well.

Then I got caught up in tube amps, believing the hype. A couple of Fenders and a Marshall later (not to mention about 2 grand), I'm back to Randall to stay. If you can't sound good through the RG75, you're probably playing the wrong instrument. It ain't the amp's fault.

This thing sounds about the same as the one I had back in the day, except the clean channel is approximately 687 billion times better. There's no need for tone tweeking, just set everything at 5, leave the boost button off, and adjust the master volume to your setting. Perfect.

The distortion 1 channel is great, versitle from classic rock to hardcore. the distortion 2 channel is, I dunno, too death-metal for my taste, but certainly useful for rippin' a face-melter every once in a while.

My advice is to break from the growing herd of sheep who are much more caught up in the consumerism of tube amps. The technology is here, now. These amps are inexpensive, well built, great sounding, lightwieght, and they don't hiss, hum, crackle, or overheat.

Worth a look

TO SUM THINGS UP THIS AMP IS OK. If your looking for spectacular tone that'll blow you away look elsewhere. No doubt with an expensive high gain pickup you will come impressively close. This amp in my opinion is serious value for money, a 75 watt this good is always gonna be worth a look. BUT I stress you MUST have a look round at different amps, these things are too expensive just to go ahead and buy off the net like I did. Check out modeling amps and other valvestates or even complete tube amps at a little more money. Quality I have to mark down as both myself and a friend who owns this amp had trouble with it fusing the lead to the mains. Which therefore leaves something to be desired in the electronics. Also for some users particularly if you own any low output pickups this thing has some huge bass hum, like feedback caliber hum when you palm mute, this can be reduced by putting the channel volume on 10 and master on low but never quite eradicated. Finally I will say I don't regret buying it really, get some good pickups you will have an enjoyable guitar sound, if you don't it will sound thin, weak and just bad distorted. However clean channel is ace (real good) reverb is weaker than a newborn kitten. Give it a go UP TO YOU, DONT LET SHINING INTERNET REVIEWS SWAY YOU AS THEY ARE BIASED TOWARDS THE EXTREMES.

The Perfect Randall!

I just received this amp this week and I can't stop playing. For this price on a Randall is just perfect. The clean channel can sound like Stevie Ray to Jimi to anything clean. The overdrive channel gives out that Randall crunch. You can have Dime's sound out of this 12'' Celestion (that comes perfect with the price). You would think you needed a half stack to create that razor edge distortion when all you need is a 75watt amp that all you need to do is to put in the PA and you got yourself a Power Amp right there. The Quality of the amp is Great. The great thing about is that it really does sound like a Tube Amp. You get that bottom end sound that the tube has. Overall, this amp blows the competition away. Randall Rulez!
