Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett helped design the signature Randall KH120RHS Half Stack. Working with Randall, Kirk's main goals were to develop a half stack that included his 3 primary signature tones, but was also affordable enough for up-and-coming shredders or high-gain guitarists on a budget. The KH120RH amp head includes dual-gain stages for classic and modern voiced high-gain tones, as well as a pristine clean channel that stays clean even with active guitar pickups. The included KH412 speaker cabinet is equipped with 4 x 12" Celestion Rocket 50 speakers for 200W capability.

I used to own the Randall Kh-120, and i can say after about 2 weeks of owning it, i was not happy at all with the quality of the product. the distortion on this thing is really bad and what makes it worse are active EMGs. It's what my guitar has and i can tell you, EMGs and this amp WILL NOT sound nicely at all together. the distortion sounds all fuzzy and horrible especially with an EMG 60. I have done some research and what also might be contributing to the terrible sound i get out of the EMG 60, overdriven, are the 4 Celestion rocket 50's that are in the cabinet that u get with the amp. the rocket 50's are extremely cheap and sound poor and a lot of people have said that rocket 50's sound terrible with low frequency sounds. and with the huge, fat low end that the EMG 60 has, it has led me to believe that the rocket 50's might be causing the distortion to sound terrible. Do not waste your time with this amp.

I have played guitar for awhile and when I was shopping for an amp I was looking for something in my budget, and something that will last. This amp has accomplished both so far.

Features: I gave this a 3.5 for a couple of reasons, this is because it only has two channels, i mean yes you have to gain channels but they are the same thing, something i wish that they put on this amp is a vintage type distortion, unlike two high gain channels. Overall for features i thought it was good just wanted more variety,

Quality: The quality of this amp is great. It has held up nicely and have not had any problems with it

Value: The value of this amp was the best thing so far. It has a good tone and it is also very durable.

Overall: Overall this amp is a definate buy. It is worth the money and I myself have been using it for a year and have had no problems with it what so ever, and it had a killer tone.

Get this amp if your looking for something under a thousand dollars, this would be your best bet!!

I bought the Randall KH-120 4-12 half stack a year ago. It is the best money I ever spent. The gain is metal. Playing solos on this amp rocks. I own a ESP-EX-400,and a Viper-401, so I own High output guitars and this amp makes it that much better.

Massive tone!

What a beast. I guess some people have gotten hold of a few lemons or something because there's nothing wrong with mine. I'm primarily a blues player but my particular flavor of blues calls for a tone of distortion and this amp delivers. I play a Fender standard strat and a Schecter Hellraiser through and they sound great! You can run your effects straight into the amp and the tone won't suffer(always use a noise gate if running any effects through any amp). If no fx, there's no static or hiss. This amp has a pristine clean tone and great reverb. It also gives some tube amps a run for their money. If you need some serious gain and a loud amp on a budget, this is it!

Disappointing

First off, Metallica has been my #1 fav band for the last 15 years. I was so happy to finally have a signature stack available but it sucks. The clean channel is great but the distortion is horrible. It sounded so muffled and hollow. No beef. I was using a Gibson Explorer. I didn't try anything w/ active EMGs. Great clean channel, lousy distortion.
