Excellent Switcher

I bought this to switch from my Mesa triple Rectifer to my Fender Hotrod Deluxe. This thing works perfect. No noise, no loud pops when switching, works exactly as advertised. One of the great thinkgs is that it does not even require power. As always, I recommend good quality cables though for all your equipment. I could not be happier with this piece of gear. thanks Tonebone!!

Exactly what I needed...

This little device is nearly perfect. It does everything it claims to do, and does it well. It even does more, it can be used for two guitars going into one amp. The only thing I would have liked are LEDs, but since this is totally passive, it was not included, no big deal though. You can easily tell by the sound what amp you're using. The switches are outstanding, fixes any ground loops, out of phase issues, etc. As recommended by Radial, puit a buffered bypass pedal in front of it to solve any singal degradation issues. I use a TS9 for this purpose (as well as to boost my Marshalls.) Extremely well built as all Radial products are, and affordable.

BigShot AB-Y

I was using Morley's AB-Y, but I was getting a ground loop type buzz. I switched to this box, and without even engaging any of the switches, the buzz was gone. Very solid build, good sound quality as long as you make sure you have a buffered pedal in front of the box to compensate for it's transformer. Highly recommended if you're running 1 hi-gain and 1 lo-gain head like I am.

The BEST passive ABY switch!

It's sturdy, solid, and does the ABY function well. But i did not expect it to SILENCE the mild buzz im getting from one of my vintage Bass 50s. WOW! Even with a 3prong power plug and caps changed, there was still some slight buzz at idle. The mini-switches (LIFT, 180, ISO) when turned on eliminated it. Whats even more amazing is that its done PASSIVELY, no active circuitry to potentially color the tone. An even more interesting function is the 180degree switch. It's like a phase switch - it aligns the 2 amps much like 2 pickups are aligned as a humbucker (thereby making the amps quieter). For the adventurous, the switch gives you 2 different sounds when BOTH amps are on (in phase or out of phase). Some cons: since its passive, No LEDs. Some people say you can hear it click when switching - i didnt. When both amps are on, there is a slight treble cut(but if you understand basic electronic circuitry this is normal). The manual covers all of those and offers solutions for them. Thats how I know this product is well-thought of. I'm more than satisfied with this ABY switch - I'm getting a SECOND one! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

where did my tone go?

The "A" output cuts tone off my guitar when I use both amps. "B" stays fine by itself and with both channels on, but "A" changes my sound.

Tried different amps and different patch chords... same thing. Awful. Let's hope it's just my unit.
