It's a big little amp

I have had one of these Pignose amps for 30 years. I still use it for practicing. I crank it up and it still has the original speaker. Actually it sounds better now than when it was new. I have actually used it on recordings. You can’t tell the difference between the Pignose and a small Fender combo amp on the recordings if you mic it right. It’s an awesome little amp with a bunch of different sounds, depending on how much the case is opened or closed. I use the power adapter because mine goes through batteries like….well you know. I’m not worried about any buzz from the adapter, I play a 76 Strat. The hum from the Strat blanks out the buzz. If you want a small amp that has a tube sound, get this little baby. It’s very simple. But with a couple of pedals, you can get just about any sound you desire.

The Immortal Pignose...

Cool little amp. Bought my first one 30+ years ago, and still have that amp. Bought a second one for my daughter to practice with...she loves it. It's a damn shame that the AC adapter DOESN'T come with the amp. Those things cost about a buck-two-ninety-eight to manufacture and should be included with the amp...it shouldn't be a separate optional purchase.

IT'S A PRACTICE AMP FOR GOD'S SAKE

It won’t make you play better but it will make you want to. It won’t do the dishes. This is just a good amp. Some wish it had this or that. Guess what. It don’t. It is just a great amp with surprising volume, workmanship and clarity. So just plug your stuff into it for your distortion or whatever. Problem solved. It actually has a real tube sound coming out of a solid state circuitry. Unlike the little Marshall amp I have, this one has no crackle. And the volume is well within, “Tick your roomies off range.” Yeah, it’s made in China. Not it’s fault. If it was made here the price would be much more. Clean and vintage sound. Get it. It was good back in the day and it still is today. You want uncontrollable, annoying distortion, buy a Marshall M-2 for about the same price.

THE LEGENDARY PIG

Dosent have a distortion setting?? It IS the ultimate distortion box for Pete sake. Yeah I wish it had reverb, chorus, delay and tremolo. It has a line plug on the back out now. Im not sure if the older ones had that. Ive seen some darn good harp players in bands blasting out of one of these mic'ed. For guitar it can be clean to blues dirty-nasty at the turn of the nose/knob. I saw a guy on Youtube trying to kill one with feedback. It is nicely built and has a vintage appeal. If you are jaming with acoustic friends it will give you a taste of clean volume and will dirty up for leads. And not blow everyone away. Ive had Cubes. I like this better for some reason. It is total "Pig"

I used my cousin's Pignose and I loved it. It gave me great tone, and high volume. I own a Marshall MS2 and the Marshall cant even compare. This amp is all about quality. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't have a distortion setting. That can be cured with a pedal. The simple one volume knob is really simple. Get this amp and you will love it.
