I've played this amp for the past six years and really like it. I replaced the 12" factory speaker with a Celestion and also replaced the tubes with Tongsol, it is excellent for blues, rock and country. You can get a british sound if you attach an extension cab.

I only wish it had a standby switch just so I dont have to turn the volumes to 0, another input would be cool but I dont need it, other than that its great. The reverb is dark and long, I prefer a bright medium like a marshall. I dont need a distortion channel cuz I use stomp boxes cuz most amps dont have the distortion I want except Marshall vintage moderns but those are effin expensive. I got mine new for a great price so thats a 10 out of 5 value, so I have extra money to replace the chinese tubes n' speaker which I feel will make a great improvement. Has that nice warm tube tone that I love. Doesnt sound thick and bassy like a half stack but I prefer that. 1st 1 I got had a loud buzz n wouldnt work unless I tapped it sometimes, traded for another at no cost. Also wired up a footswitch to turn reverb on/off. Great amp needs some mods which I knew when I bought it for the cheap price.

This is a very nice guitar amp if you can dig running thru a single channel-(which i'm used to doing). It is waay loud, and covers clean to chunky rock. (depending on the tube compliment, it can even approach metal).
I've been thru and thru this amp inside and out, and can attest that any lack of tone issues are ALWAYS related to other factors- (ie: below spec preamp tubes, dirty/loose tube receptacle contact pins, failing guitar cable/cord, and component failures resulting from physical abuse).
The only complaint I have was the preamp board wiring layout, which makes it a long process to remove it for mods. I added a bias ckt on the pwr. supply board, which allows me to run my output tubes a little hot...or adjust for various manufactured tubes. I also run a 120vac 5.5" box fan onto the output tubes and tranny, so that i can play loud and long-(and still touch the tubes). The amp is quiet enough that the fan does'nt interfere whatsoever.
This is a very respectable amp irreguardless--when compared to other close equivelant output tube combos.
Replace the cheap plastic feet with rubber, Install decent (and tested) tubes, Don't allow it to fly around when transporting, and Assist ventilation..(on any tube amp for that matter).,and this amp DOES deliver.
Now......Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

This is a solid amp tone wise, but the feature department is really lacking. IF you are looking for a straight ahead guitar amp, then look elsewhere because this will not give you what you need. It IS however, a good all around amp for keys, pedal steel, harmonica, and it certainly CAN be a great guitar amp. But it's features and set up are not guitar oriented by any means. Technically the only problem I have had with it has been a loose input jack, which is what I imagine the guy above with the crackling and popping also had. That's not too bad, it's only a cheap fix, but still for this kind of boutique price I expected a lot more quality. One thing I can't complain about is the volume, this thing gets very, very loud.

The basic amp is pretty good. I changed out the chinese tubes for USA ones, and put in an Eminence 12" and wow! Way better sound! Have had no problems with it.
