I got this amp abot a year ago, and all I can say about it is amazing! It has reach all-tube sound, and it's as loud as a thunderstruck... or even louder... honestly, I have never been able to turn the volume over half...
My relationship with this beast didn't start too good, one of the tubes died 2 days after I purchased it, but even with the 50 dollars for a set of quality tubes, it really worth the price. With the A/A-B knob, you can really get the sound you want. In A-B it's grat for metal, but I dont us it that way. In A it's warm, bluesy if you want, and it has a lot of pounch.
There's only one thing you can't expect from it. It cant sound good silently, because it wasn't made for it. Go outside, turn it up and rock!
And forget $2000+ Marshall amps. This one is just as good as those, the only thing it doesn't have is "Marshall" written on it.

Iv'e had this amp for about 1 year now and it is amazing. The tone you can get from this amp is usefull in any music. This amp is perfect in the studio and on stage. The texture knob was also a very cool feature on the valveking, which gives you an option of running it class a/b(full power), and class A(brighter, clear sound). My setup with the valveking usually runs some FX into it,but even if you play direct into it you can still get amazing sounds.Ultimately, I would reccomend this amp to anyone looking for a cheap decent tube amp good for any genre of music.

I've owned this amp for over a year now and I bought it off the floor of a guitar store. So, its been used and abuse for probably over a year and a half and the tubes are still cookin'. The cab is awesome and can put out great bassy tones upto great trebble tones. Head looks awesome, and holy crap this thing is LOUD. I've only ever had it upto 5 and this is the tubes being a year and a half old. I was standing on the side 5 feet away or so, in a mid sized room. It felt like I had my ear right on the speaker at 2.
Amp also has great ability to have different tones with all of the eq controls and tube control. awesome awesome awesome BUY this amp NOW.

I have owned: Boogie, Soldano,Marshall,Bogner and Paid out the ass for these amps. the thing I hated was with tube amps you always had to add a pedal to give it just a bit more. not in the case with this amp. first offfor what I paid for the amps above I could have bought 6 of these. this amp kicks some serious butt! the tone is warm and rich.....TONS OF GAIN! and not grainy sounding like a 6505...again you could buy 2 heads for the price of that one. this amp delivers the goods! very warm with alot of complex texture. every note jumps out and maintains quality.

WOW…. this amps is really something. When we think of peavey we think of starter practice amp, but let me tell you, Peavey has stepped it up with this valve king line. I had a Line 6 spider II 2x12 combo amp until it crapped out on me on stage. So right away I started looking for a tube amp. I stumbled upon the peavey Valve king and let me tell you it actually impressed me. With its new “texture” application you can go from a class A to a class A/B amp. This can give you a variety sounds. I usually keep it in the class A just because I want that creamy/warm/blues sound. If your into classic rock, alt. rock, or blues this is the amp for you. This amp has a nice warm tube sound, but when you want to turn it up with the gain it wont let you down. This amp does come with JJ 6l6's power tubes, which means that when you strum the chord hard it will get a slight muddiness sound. I’m planning to swap the tubes out with some mesa boogie tubes, which should relieve that slight muddiness for your amp. The cab speakers are very nice, it can handle the lows when its in a hi gain. You wont disappointed you get your bang for your buck. After I bought this amp the first time I actually used it to its full potential was at a gig and my other guitar player in my band that owns a Marshall half stack was impressed. He knows more about amps then me and he was blown away by how it can keep up with a 3,000 dollar Marshall amp. I think we have a real winner here.
