Built to ROCK

I picked my VK100 head up used. No mods and in like new condition. I am completely happy with my decision. This beast can melt your face off. I play mine through a Johnson 412 cabinet and the crunch is a living, breathing thing. So perfect for classic rock that I laugh at the prices for the "Name brand amps". Yes, the reverb sucks above 4 but who cares. This amp is made for one thing and that is playing in your face, staight-up rock n roll. The texture knob, while not conveniently located, will get you very close to your sound. I mean, really... who doesn't use a pedal or two? I run through a Maxon tube screamer and I truly have a $#!^-eating grin on my face every time I crank her up. Just get it. I have Never had a tube problem. yeah the Ruby tubes aren't designer tubes, but that is easily and cheaply fixed and you still have less than half in it what you would pay for your precious, over-priced marshall.

Best Head For Under 700 Dollars

I did a lot of research before buying this head. The first thing to take into consideration is the price tag, this thing is priced very well and part of the reason i ignored this amp was simply the price, cheap usually means cheap but now with the VK100. This thing screams, any thing from diving down on the floyd rose and letting a harmonic scream to powerfull and clear sweeps/arpegios, this amp covers all the spectrums and then some. This head provides more than enough power, the stock tubes are OKAY but for around 70 bucks you can upgrade to a much nicer set of tubes. I primarily play death/black metal but also play in a jam band playing 60's/70's music with the oldies down the street. Stop procrastinating and buy the Valve King. King is in the name for a reason!

VK100 Tube Amp

Great amp, in my opinion. It has 2 channels with a gain boost. For the money, I am completely happy with my purchase (I got it used). It has held up. No problem with tubes so far. Pros: great sound, loud enough for anything, basically 3 channels, pinch harmonics sound great, love the tone. Cons: Master reverb has to be kept off because it sounds really bad with distortion on. Slight delay when changing channels. The delay can be dealt with. The amp is great in my opinion.

i bought this amp about a year ago, and it doesn't get too heavy use since i dont play shows or anything at the moment. It's got a great rich sound, and has all the features i need since i have pedals for anything else i want. my only gripe - and it's a big one - two tubes burned out on me. its a good amp, but the 6L6 GC Power Amp tubes are cheap. they burn out easily, and from other people i've met they had the same problem. dont get it if you plan on dishing out money for new tubes within a year.

Awesome

This head is simply amazing. For the price, buying a tube amp half as good as this would still be a steal. I play it through a Marshall 1960 cab and the setup rocks. Lots of gain, and the clean is bright and clear, very amazing.
