Black Transparent Red

Aimed squarely at jazz and fusion players, the JF-1 plays like a dream. This classic hollowbody design has been tweaked to allow more comfortable access to the upper register of the fingerboard by ever-so-slightly angling the neck.

Fitted with modern Peavey humbuckers, the thin, lightweight maple-ply body delivers classic fat, smooth guitar sounds. 2 volume pots; 2 tone knobs; and a 3-way, toggle-style pickup selector put all the control right at your fingertips.

Peavey JF-1 Hollowbody Guitar Features:

  • Slightly accentuated neck angle allows easier access to the upper fingerboard
  • Thin, hollow, maple ply archtop body
  • 2 humbucking pickups
  • Rosewood fingerboard
  • Classic binding
  • MOP inlays
  • 2 volume and 2 tone knobs

For guitarists who need as much access as possible, especially in the upper registers, this is your axe.

I've had this guitar for about a year now and all i can say is that i absolutely love it and if your looking to buy a guitar especially a semi-hollow body then this is affordable but still good playing. The tone is great for anything from worship, rock, jazz, heavy rock, etc. It's all in all a very versatile guitar, bringing out the "feeling" in your playing. I've found that with alot of strat's and tele's they aren't as versatile in their tone and it limits them if you like to play a variety of styles. I bought this used, and also mine is a JF-1X which i can't find but there seem to be only a few differences between the JF-1X and JF-1. I am hoping to replace the tuners as I find that they do drop out quicker than my other instruments, but you can't expect everything you want from a guitar this cheap, right? The fret board is a nice play and i keep the action a little high to get more warmth. Smooth clean tones and distortion bites on this thing. Very light, and also I've been hearing Seymour Duncans Hot Rodded set brings out the glory of this guitar (JH-2 and JH-4). All in all I highly recommend this guitar to anyone who's checking into it, but go play it first! It's different for everyone.

id like to point out this guitar was great for about a year i bought it for recording and gigging but after nine months the input jack stopped working now being a drummer who jumped into the guitar world i wasnt gonna risk breaking it so i took it to the shop

the only way to fix it was to remove the jack and put in a new one which costs more than a new guitar would be for me at this point

so for now im playing a squier telecaster until this fixes it self or i have money for a better one

Great guitar with a few mods

I want to echo the comments of Charlie Mc from Nebraska. I made the same mods that he did -- switching the pickups to a Duncan Hot Rodded Humbucker set (Jazz in neck and JB4 in bridge) and two push-pull pots from Stewart-McDonald. Wow! I had a Gibson 345 at one time and hated to have to sell it. Now I don't miss it. LOTS of tone options. The new pickups bring the guitar to life. And, the guitar is very well-made to begin with. The Chinese just save money on the electronics. Replace them and you've got yourself an amazing guitar for the money. I also put some flat-wounds on it because I like the "chunk" they provide. All in all, a very nice guitar that offers a LOT of value.

It was my fault for getting this guitar. I was all caught up in the look of it and did not play it enough. This guitar never stays in tune, I have tightend up the tuners but it still comes loose within about 2 minutes of playing. Theres also alot of fret buzzing and it just sounds like crap. Maybe its just me, and maybe the one I got was messed up or something because its seems like alot of people are satisfied with it but all I'm sayin is play it for a good bit before buyin. Hope this helped.

I bought my JF-1[ Sunburst] about 2 months ago.. I have to say that for the Money you Spend, you get a very nice, solid guitar, and the Sunburst is really a great looking guitar, and the neck feels nice, and it is a fun guitar to play. My only gripe about this guitar is that the Pickups are mediocre at best, I was getting a lot of Feedback out of these Humbuckers at high Volume levels, so I replaced my pickups with a Dimarzio PAF Pro Humbucker[ Neck] and a Super Distortion Humbucker [Bridge] and it has taken this guitar from a pretender to a contender..It sounds amazing, I haven't touched my other Guitars for a while, Great Jazz, Blues, and Rock Tones..Great price for a good guitar, do a few modifications you will have an amazing guitar, for a lot less than a Gibson 335..
