Transparent Black Cherryburst

Named after Peavey's founder and CEO, Hartley Peavey, the HP Signature electric guitar is the ultimate refinement of the playability, tone, style, and technology Peavey has developed over the past 39 years. The Peavey EXP is built on a solid foundation, using the finest selected woods, hardware, and pickups for brilliant tone as well as a distinctive, unmistakable appearance.

Constructed using warm, resonant mahogany for the body and neck, Peavey's patented Dual-Compression Bridge for longer sustain, and a solid quilt maple archtop to sweeten the tone, there isn't a bad sound to be had in this guitar. The Dual-Compression Bridge system is a unique, string-through design creating a metal-to-metal connection for singing sustain and stronger string presence.

The Peavey EXP also features a nicely-finished rosewood fretboard for a velvet feel with smooth attack. 2 of Peavey's patented, dual-wound, hum-canceling pickups provide high output and unmatched tone. Also features quality Grover tuners, 2 volume knobs, one tone knob, and a 3-way, toggle-style pickup selector.

I bought this guitar with the tiger eye color, though I had read in previous reviews that the finish wasn't exactly as in the picture so I was starting to regret my purchase... but after I saw this baby's finish I only regreted regretin my decision. This guitar is beautiful in all possible ways!! you can jazz the hell out of it or make it scream like a Santana bend. its just a masterpiece!!

It is hard to find a value like this one. This guitar plays great and it looks good too. Guitars that cost twice this much would have a hard time beating this little work horse. If you buy this you will not be disappointed.

Just received my HP tiger eye EXP yesterday. Right out of the box I notice this guitar has a great finish and seems well made. It was very ovious the tiger eye finish isn't exactly what is shown in the pictures and has a much more yellow than red tint to it. I wasn't real happy with the difference in color but the quality was right up there with more expensive models. A full set up will be required and was not very good right out of the box. The hums and string height needed adjustment and of course the strings had to go. I also noticed that some of the fret ends were a bit rough and may catch a string in some places. I haven't had a chance to play it but if its anything like some of the earlier post...It will be sweet.

Excellent Guitar with a great price

As far as the guitar goes it has the look, and the fit and finish of guitars twice the price. I was a bit surprised at how well it sounded and played. The pickups are very nice with great tone and bite. The Neck is amazing with the ebony fretboard that plays very smooth. If you're looking for a guitar that feels like a Les Paul and has a similar tone but a 2 octave range with a fast fretboard- this is the monster. If there is any negative it's the fact that all 2 octave necks force the pickups closer together unless you go with a baritone stlye or long scale length which is a very different instrument. This is a great buy

Best Foreign Guitar there is

The Korean HP beats any import guitar and more than a few American guitars. Most comfortable design of any guitar, at any price, ever. As versatile as a stoptail dual Humbucker guitar could ever be; you could walk into any gig from jazz to death metal and this guitar wouldn't be out of place.

I've owned one of these for three years, had it crap out one time due to an issue with the input jack coming loose, and aside from that it's rock-solid. I've seen it take a headfirst, three-foot fall with the neck hitting the stage at the worst possible angle and it was barely knocked out of tune.

The ebony board, the amazingly smooth neck heel, the excellent (for stock) pickups, do yourself a favor and spend a few minutes with one of these.
