Great Guitar

I am a professional musician and use this guitar on stage 4 nights a week minimum, It sounds great, plays great and has a really cool look. i own Les Pauls, Strats and some Ibanesz guitars and this is the one I use every night, getting ready to order another one for back up. just in case i break a string. I have started running an A/B switch sending 1 side to my Marshall and side 2 to a compressor and than to the mains of the P.A. I use side 2 with the Piezo acoustic setting, sounds amazing. and i dont need to bring my acoustic guitar to gigs. You can get almost any sound you could want with this guitar, the only negative is on the 2nd Neck position pickup I cant get a real autnentic strat tone (close though) buy this guitar you will love it.

I posted a review on Feb 5, 2006. I wasn't much of a guitarist at that time, and actually I'm still not much of one. I got used to the neckdive and have overall improved a lot in my playing so that it's not a problem. Still not as comfortable as a strat. I thought about selling or trading this guitar for a strat but I just can't seem to let go of it. It's beautiful, has great sounds, feels good, although again not as comfy as a strat. Also I think the neck is thicker than a strat. Feels solid and well built. The sustain seems weak in the high notes. I changed the volume pot (which went bad) to some gibson part from a local store, and now the guitar plays without any 9 volt battery! But output is slightly lower. I still want a strat, but for now this is great, and this guitar will stay in my small collection.

It's been a year

I got my peavey last november and it's been a year and I have yet to play a more verastile guitar. I'm in a jazz band where with rythmn and the neck humbucker you get all the bluesy sound you could imagine, with rock playing with treble and the bridge humbucker this handles any amount of gain with ease. I personally don't use the single coil that often unless I'm playing songs like confortably numb, etc. The acoustic feature sets this guitar apart from all the others. I feel it's about time Peavey gets some more credit for their guitars it's one of the best kept secrets in music. Even if you go by looks alone this guitar and the trim on the side could be sold for a far higher price. I'm considering getting the peavey JF1 guitar now;a nice hollowbody

This is my second guitar. From my Squire to this...well that's self explanitory. This is a awesome guitar and I highly recommend it. The active pickups and a the range of this guitar is amazing. You can play blues or heavey rock or metal. Quality however is the only problem. The fretboard seems to buzz...but compared to Peavey in it's early years man they have come along way.

What a great guitar, especially for the price. With this guitar, you can get a balls to the wall Les Paul tone...or something as mellow as a strat. The piezo sounds great, and the guitar plays well. I've had no problems, and I use this thing on every gig. Being a full time musician, playing with straight ahead jazz bebop groups, fusion groups, big band music, and rock bands...this thing has got it all. I might end up getting another one.
