While breaking back into the world of valve amps and having used fenders of all types ( vintage as well as modern ) i found myself limited to a budget and bought the 410 second hand off e bay ... its cool bassman looks and the fact it had a hotrodded drive section such as my previous hot rod deluxe was a big attraction.
Up until i plugged into the amp i'd only read the reviews from other users and heard demo's on you tube and was under the impression it would fit the bill for a while and that in the back of my mind i'd still have the hankering for real fender tone ... How wrong could i be !! After getting acquainted with this amp i doubt i'll ever go back to a fender , as everything from classic clean blues tone to gary moore blues drive is there . The only downside is that the reverb is a little weak but the addition of a delay pedal should help matters no end . Its reassuringly heavy and the construction is excellent .
Compare and Believe, Great Amp!!!

I've owned several Fenders, Pro-Sonic (also a great amp, buit lacking in overall volume out front), Both Fender Devilles, 212 and the 410 models, great Fender sound clean at lower volumes but average even poor distortion, overal the Peavey 212 and the 410 blows them out of the water for less money. I gig with either the Classic 212 or the 410, they are both great, but the 410 is my favorite - huge sound, clean at loud volumes, and the distortion is the best I've heard on any amp. I love these amps and will keep them until I die.
Fantastic Tone!

Recently I came across a Classic 50 410 in a store --- something that surprised me since I have never been able to find one.
The tone I can get with from my ’76 Gibson ES-175T (thinline) through the 410 is amazing. The Peavey provides a heavy sound with much better clarity than my Marshall MG100DFX--- even with the pre-gain on 9. There’s really no comparison.
Put the cord into the "bright", set the pre-amp to 9, the post to 5 and the main volume to 5 and you've got a perfect '70's classic rock sound to make you sound just like Nugent (who uses this and the 212 as his stage amp (miked). Pedals? Don't need 'em! It has enough gain to suit my needs.
I've found that at lower volumes (ie: attempting low volume practice levels) that the amp doesn't sound as good. It's meant to be played at a mid-level or higher volume IMO.
As far as features go....I don't need many. Just the gain, tone and volume knobs are all the I desire.
Quality? That's a hard thing to give a rating on. Everything seems fine to me.
Value? Great tone at a great price.
Overall? This amp fits my needs perfectly. I couldn't ask for more from it.

Throughout my career I've played on numerous amps, including a Fender Deluxe, a Vox AC15, and Peavey's own Delta Blues 115. But when I stumbled across this masterpiece I was immediately and forever sold. The 410 cab arrangement is perfect for highlighting the brilliant mid range tone that the EL84's produce. It's clean is crystal clear and beautiful to the ear. The spring reverb is the best I've ever heard, and works amazingly when paired with a giga delay or another comparable pedal. The clean channel works amazing with true bypass pedals. I haven't used the lead channel too much, as the overdrive I get from combining a fulltone fulldrive2 and a MXR super comp is (for me) a perfect sound. I will never use another live amp...period.
*side note...wish it had a tremelo feature.
Awesome amp

This thing sounds great. I wish it had a footswitch to toggle the effects loop, or separate eqs for the two channels, but it's alright. The eq is very balanced, not hard to find a good setting for OD and clean. Reverb sounds great. Rugged as heck, loves pedals. I can't stop playing it.
