The only reason I gave a 4 for features is because I have an older model without the effects loop. The sound is amazing clean, and overdrive is good for mild use. Adding a ts808 and signal booster takes this amp to a whole other level. Peavey just nailed a great sound, and are durable against most anything. If someone stole it, I would shoot them

I have been using this amp professionally for five years. I gig with the Classic 50 2x12 and I use its little brother, the Classic 30 1x12, for rehearsal. I also own a Fender Twin 65 Reissue, and I use it interchangeably with the Classic 50 (depending upon volume requirement of the gig). For all usable tones, attacks, and attitudes, this amp is a must-own. Reliable, easy to use, built to last. Forget all the gushing new owners' opinions, take it from a veteran owner: There may be more expensive, better-appointed, and just as good sounding amps, but there is no better value than this machine. I set it at equal value to my Twin, and that's saying something.

I have had this amp for about 9 months. It had issues at first with unwanted distortion. Peavey replaced the power tubes and that did the trick. Nice clean channel. Nice lead/ distortion channel especially since you can crank the pre and post but turn down the master volume so you can get nice tube distortion at a low volume when you need it. Nice warm sound. Occasionally some hiss. Glad I bought it. A good value for a quality ampp.

This is a great amp. The clean is nice and buttery and the lead channel has some nice crunchy distortion. Not quite enough balls for metal but you can get a nice hard rock sound out of this thing. If you want metal buy an EH Metal Muff and you have one of the best metal sounds out there. Go buy this amp!

Best investment ever

After playing this amp for the past few weeks, I've realized this is the best investment I've ever made. The amp sounds incredible; my Highway One Stratocaster just roars when it's plugged into the Peavey. I crank the volume up to 3 and my ears are ringing, it's fantastic. I cranked it up to 12 and there is NO FEEDBACK. It's so much easier to practice when every time you plug in, you have the perfect tone. It's been hard to find time to work on college assignments because I just can't put my guitar down. Any Deadheads out there? put the bass on 10, mid on 5, treble on 8, reverb on 8, pre on 8, post 12 and you have the Europe '72 Jerry Garcia sound. This amp is also perfect for jamming along to Derek & The Dominos and John Mayall albums. I never played a Peavey before, and I was more interested in the Fender tube amps. I think the Classic 50 blows the Blues Deluxe and Hot Rod Deville away. Don't settle for anything less than this amp.
