The Parkwood PW320M Grand Auditorium Acoustic Guitar has a solid spruce top, and solid mahogany back and sides. Braces are hand scalloped and cosmetic appointments are elegant. The PM320M is finished in an ultra thin "open pore" finish that lets the sound come through loud and clear.

Whether you've been playing for years, or are looking to upgrade to your first high quality guitar, Parkwood is your only choice for solid woods, expert build, exceptional playability and real tone at an extraordinary price.

AUDITORIUM
Also known as OM (Orchestra) with its slimmer waist and smaller overall body shape. This style has a clear and flexible tone. The smaller body is reminiscent of guitars used by many of the classic blues players.

OPEN PORE FINISH
This finish is applied in several layers that allow the open pores of the wood to be felt and to also allow the wood to breathe and vibrate at its best. You can actually feel the wood grain, like it was a raw unfinished piece of wood. The tone of an open pore finish is loud, alive and natural.

TOP - Sitka Spruce (Picea sitchensis)
Sitka Spruce comes from the Pacific northwest and today is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops. Sitka is a bit stronger and stiffer than other spruces. Its strength and toughness make it well suited for steel string guitars.

BACK & SIDES - Mahogany (Khaya ivorensis)
Mahogany is softer and lighter than Rosewood. Generally, Mahogany is warmer and has more low end, providing a strong, thumping bass with an emphasis on clear, bright, airy, trebles. It's also used for bracing, binding, end blocks, heel blocks and necks

Great Guitar for the Price

I bought this guitar a month ago for my birthday. I shopped long and hard and was just about to buy a Martin, when the guy at Guitar Center said, "Before you buy the Martin why don't you check this Parkwood out, it is one of my favorites." I did and loved it immediately. I have smaller hands and this guitar fits me perfectly. The tone of all hardwood body is beautiful, and I am sure it will just keep getting better with time.

I took the guitar to my next guitar lesson, and my instructor (who has been playing for 20 years) was a little skeptical that I had what he considered an off brand guitar. He asked if he could play it for a minute. Afterward he said, "You know it is funny you can sometimes spend a couple thousand dollars on a Martin or Taylor, and not get anything extrodinary. Then sometimes you can buy a guitar like this one and everything just seems to come together right, and the guitar just sings."

That is the best way I can describe this guitar, it just effortlessly sings. I love playing it, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get a great guitar.

Loving my new Parkwood PW320M!

I'd been playing for 44 years, although I hadn't even touched a guitar since I sold my '69 Martin D-18 15 years ago. When I went guitar shopping a few days ago, I had in mind the styles, names, quality & performance to which I'd been accustomed, but anything equivalent to my D-18 was now totally out of my price range. So I asked to see models more affordable to me, and also with a narrower neck and shorter distance between frets, 'cause I have tiny baby hands, which have always limited my playing. As soon as I picked up the Parkwood, it immediately felt very comfortable my hands. I'd never heard of the Parkwood brand, but I'm thrilled with my purchase, have been playing happily since I bought it, and no longer subscribe to the snobby notion of "Big Name" brands. I heartily recommend the Parkwood PW320M.

Pleasantly Surprised!

I went down to my local music shop with the goal of picking up an all solid-wood acoustic. I knew the Parkwoods used all solid-wood construction and I was intrigued by their modest price tag. I played the 3-series dread and Grand Auditorium. The 310 Dread was nice, but the 320 Grand Auditorium just lit me up! I tuned it up and found it to be crisp and airy with that tight trebly sound you expect from the smaller GA size. It sounded great strummed as well as while flat picking, with very nice separation between lows and highs. Not muddy at all. I was just so impressed with the sound and feel of this Parkwood that I ended up buying it!

Since I made my purchase, my experience has been positive. I like the action - it was set up fairly low out of the box, but not so low as to get buzzy with aggressive strumming. The nut height is perfect. The Grover tuners are nice and offer positive feel. I like the black tuning keys. The binding on the body and neck is perfect. The thin, open finish allows you to feel the grain of the wood - particularly on the back/sides/neck. Nice touch! The spruce top is tight-grained and very light in color and gives plenty of vibe. Rosewood fingerboard is smooth as silk. Fret ends are slightly rough, but do not extend beyond the fingerboard or catch your fingers. I intend to smooth them out, but I do not expect a lot of work there. I have not needed to adjust the truss rod yet. There are no buzzy frets or dead notes. The GA size is nice while playing seated – it came with no strap button on the heel and I have yet to add one.

I notice that the saddle could have been sanded a bit smoother around the edges and on the top surface. Otherwise, I am very impressed with the finish of the guitar. The abalone inlay on the headstock is quite elegant. Otherwise the style is no-frills. I have not had it long enough to asses how durable the “open pore” finish will be, but I like the fact that it doesn’t show fingerprints.

Most importantly, I like playing the PW320! It’s an easy player and I find myself grabbing it over some other very fine guitars in my collection. It compares very favorably with guitars that cost much, much more. It inspires me to play more and I am constantly enjoying the sounds that I am unlocking from this thing! To me, that is value. I expect it to sound even better with age, but only time will tell. I would highly recommend anyone in the market for a GA acoustic at the very least give the Parkwood a try. I am very happy that I did and I intend to hold onto this one!

Excellent Value

I own several high-end acoustics and electrics.

My daughter (then 12) bought this guitar with an accumulation of birthday present money. This was a huge purchase for a 12-year-old with her own money and we were very selective and careful.

She loves the guitar, and I am exceptionally happy with it. The solid wood and open pore finish make this a very resonant guitar. It is also quite loud for its size. We have owned it for 2 years now and it has aged well and opened up a bit, resulting in an excellent tone.

The small body size and narrower neck make it easier for tweens and smaller adults (my daughter is now 14 years old and 5'0" tall) to play.

I find myself picking this one up at times for my own playing enjoyment. It is a little small for my hands (used to Taylor necks) and the frets are a bit small for my taste, but the tone is beautiful and bright.

I never would have wasted 1000's of dollar's on Martin's, and Gibson's if I would have found this first. I don't care what anyone says they both are overated. Parkwood does not get the credit that they deserve. I was able to sell most of my collection and pay of my car. I still have in my mind the best guitar, I have ever played. I take this one everywhere. Not just some case model Martin, this one gets played. I will brag about my underated "cheap" Parkwood till' the day I die.
