The PS #2032 Private Stock Single Cutaway Hollow-body 1 Electric Guitar represents a rare opportunity for customers to own an incredible and truly one-of a kind guitar. The PS #2043 features an unusual thin-line single cutaway body design with a superb curly maple top finished in stunning glacial blue, and a South American mahogany back and neck. This body has been carved inside and out with only a small block under the bridge connecting the back and top, and offers brilliant acoustic qualities for a thin-line hollow electric. The PS 2043 has a 25" scale, a wide fat neck profile, and a 22-fret Brazilian rosewood fingerboard with a 10" radius. This is an extremely comfortable guitar that is lightweight and well-balanced, played seated or standing. The PS 2043 is adorned with beautiful white mother-of-pearl and paua purfling around the top, fingerboard and truss rod cover. (paua is the lusterous blue-green shell of a harvested New Zealand sea snail). The head-stock is topped with a Brazilian rosewood veneer that highlights a mother-of-pearl eagle and the fingerboard is dressed with mother-of-pearl bird inlays.

The acclaimed 1957/2008 pickups offered on this guitar achieve an amazing assortment of both vintage and modern sounds. PRS has obtained exclusive rights to the original pickup wire used in the most revered pickups in the 50's. These rights was granted in 2008, and 1957 was the year the humbucker was first commercially available, hence the 1957/2008 name. These pickups are fitted with classic nickel covers. In addition, an onboard patented PRS/LR Baggs Piezo System, gives you a wonderful acoustic guitar sounds and provides a huge array of tones and simple switching possibilities. You can plug into your PA or recording console and your amp at the same time. These two outstanding pickup systems combined on one instrument provide a tonal palette suitable for any musical artist.

These finely crafted instruments are specially ordered and built to customer specifications. The Private Stock team consists of a small crew of highly talented, seasoned guitar makers working at PRS Guitars. The woods are carefully picked from the PRS "Private Stash" and these extraordinary pieces of wood are some of the best instrument grade woods found on the planet. Each guitar is stained with a complex special technique to bring out the most figure and create a unprecedented three dimensionality. The instrument is carefully guided through each craftsman's hands, and finally checked by Paul and myself to ensure the best instrument possible. Each instrument is signed by Paul and receives a Private Stock number along with a letter of authenticity describing the specifications and feature of that particular instrument.
