Black Vintage Mahogany Seafoam Green Wild Mint, Body Closeup

The PRS Guitars Mira is an electric guitar for today's players with classic feel and tone but with the quality and stability you've come to expect from PRS. The Mira guitar features a thinner, solid mahogany body, 24-fret neck, matching pickguard and trussrod cover, Mira pickups, 3-way pickup selector and a mini toggle coil tap.

Latin for wonderful, Mira is also the name of an unusually fast moving star located approximately 350 light years from earth. PRS gave their Mira star treatment with 24 frets, 25" scale, 10" radius, regular neck shape. Also features locking tuning pegs, PRS non-adjustable stoptail, Abalone moon inlays, East Indian rosewood fingerboard, a solid mahogany body and neck, Mira treble and bass pickups. Controls include volume, tone, 3-way blade switch and mini toggle coil tap. This combination of features lends a new voice to the PRS lineup.

Sweet Unique Midrange Voice

I have had this guitar for a little while now. I have to say that if I could have purchased one several years ago I wouldn't have spent thousands buying Gibsons. Very useable sounds. Sweet vocal quality in the midrange. I have to say that the people who complain about the coil splitting losing volume have obviously never had any experience with coil tapping. It is impossible to turn off half the pickup and not lose some volume. It is a minor thing, for me at least. I generally roll back the volume a bit on the humbuckers. When I split the pickups I just turn it up. Great sound, perfection in workmanship. Well worth what I paid for it.

Understated and Cool

The first thing I noticed about this guitar is how light it is and how long the neck looked compared to the body. I was skeptical. Then I played it. WOW! It is so comfortable and so well built. Please don't be fooled by it's modest (if not downright homely) looks, this guitar is impressive. Fast neck, beautiful electronics (try rolling the tone knob all the way back on the neck pickup), excellent hardware. With the locking tuners you can change your strings in a matter of 10-15 minutes.

This guitar has one of the best coil tap functions I think I've ever had the pleasure of using. There is a very wide range of tones you can achieve with just the on board electronics. The three way toggle will quickly become the most useful tool in your effects arsenal! If something were to happen to my beloved Mira, I would order another one without hesitation. If you like versatility and excellent quality at a reasonable (it's a PRS) price, quit messing around. BUY ONE NOW!

PRS Mira a good find

I have the black Mira w/birds(08133359) classic slim neck. I play without a whamy or pick and in this the Mira is a tone machine. Like in other reviews the mid between the two picks can muddy but the amp volume can solve this. It plays well on Fender Deville Deluxe and the Messa 50/5 express. I like 6L6s. String wise the Mira sets up well with locking tuners (mediumheavy Dean Markley or DeAdario). The build and finish is the best and the tone is fantastic in both lead and solos. Though I would have liked seperate tone and volume controls like the Custome 24. The selector knob will stab you if you get tender picking fingers. The Mira replaces my Epi Les Paul very well. The Gibsons are great but in turn the Mira replaces the Tele/Stratfenders. 'Try "I Know A Little". Buy it for the scale length, the birds, but for the rich buy the PRS custom 24, they are both beautiful any way.

This is an amazing guitar. Sounds absolutely amazing. The only problem that I've found with this guitar is that it doesnt come with a tremola, which would've been nice. This guitar looks amazing, and it's a descent price too.

The only electric guitar you will need.

I was trying out guitars because I wanted a better guitar when I happened to try out the Mira. I have had a Double Cutway Les Paul, an SG Standard, Les Paul Junior and some Fenders I have been pleased with. I played this guitar and it is the best guitar I have ever played. It is the best Paul Reed Smith I have ever played. The neck fit snuggly in my palm with fast low action. The intonation was perfect. Plugged in I could get any sound I wanted. If you are considering an electric guitar, buy the Mira. Need a back up, get another Mira. It is the only electic guitar you will ever need. It is my next guitar purchase. It should be yours. You will not be disappointed.
