Vintage Yellow, Front Orange, Front Orange Vintage Yellow Tobacco Sunburst Orange, Closeup

The visual focus of this lavish U.S.-made instrument is a gorgeously figured flamed maple ten-top complemented by a host of deluxe appointments that combine for stunning visual appeal. The Custom PRS guitar has a 24-fret mahogany neck with a wide/thin carve, 10" radius, and a rosewood fretboard with abalone bird inlays while the headstock matches back and front. Electronics include an HFS bridge and Vintage Bass neck pickup with 5-way rotary pickup selector plus volume and tone knobs. Hardware on the Custom 24 Ten-Top guitar includes a PRS tremolo and 14:1 low-mass locking tuners.

5-Position Rotary Pickup Selector
This PRS feature allows great tonal versatility using two PRS humbucking pickups. The switch combines the coils of each pickup to produce all of the "PRS tones".

Rotary Positions (numbers on the control knob):

• Position 10: Treble pickup - powerful with plenty of definition - traditional humbucker tone

• Position 9: Outside coils in parallel - deep and clear sound

• Position 8: Series single-coils - warm version of in-between the treble and middle pickups.

• Position 7: Parallel single-coils - crisp version of in-between the treble and middle pickups

• Position 6: Bass pickup - warm with tons of character - traditional humbucker tone

An exquisite instrument...

I bought this as my first Paul Reed Smith guitar, and it did not disappoint. I have played many fine guitars, including excellent Gibson Les Pauls, SGs, Vs etc to Parker Flys, ESP (I own a few of those to boot), Hamer, Fender, the whole gamut, and found that this is probably, to me, the best playing and sounding guitar at ANY price. It is an extremely versatile, well-balanced, warm sounding instrument, with crisp single-coil cleans, fat humbucking blues sounds, and searing, all out distorted mayhem available just with the touch of a knob. A friend of mine called it a "sonic chameleon" and he hit the nail on the head. I own one with the 'standard/regular' neck, which to me is a great-feeling contour that is neither too fat or too insubstantial and allows me to play for hours with ease. Something you'll also love is the PRS Tremolo, which unlike Floyd Rose trems, actually has astounding tuning stability. My only complaint is that there is not enough up-pull with the trem (however PRS does offer a couple guitars with uprouted trem blocks).

Try one out and ignore the reputation some say PRS has as 'lawyer' guitars. These are the ultimate players' instrument.

PRS 24 fret custom ten top

Not a guitar, it's an instrument. The rings of the maple resonate with notes and the instrument plays itself. The neck shows its utility when playing along with clapton or hendrix yet, the sharp and crisp sounds can be fattened for BB King and other blues masters. I tried other PRS solid bodies but stay with the custom made ones becasue the master makers add that something extra to the PRS lline. I also have a McCarthy with Piezo for acoustic and electric or mix. It's also a custom and its tone is far beyound the Les Paul Custom that I had to retire to a guitar shop as it was so inadequate. I also checked out the Gibson 355 (and owned one as well) and its tone was too fat and dull compared to the PRS. You can alsways make it fat but clear and tonal is hard.

I went into my local guitar shop about 2 years ago to buy some strings for my Les Paul and saw the 20th Anniversary Custom 24 10 top hanging on the wall. I had never played a PRS before even though I currently own 12 guitars. Five minutes after I played it I bought it!! There is just no way to accurately describe how incredible this guitar is. Granted, it's a bit pricey, but worth every penney of what I spent on it.

One of the Great Ones!!!

Purchased my first PRS on jan.21-08. Played very hard the past few days.I have searched high and low for any flaws on this guitar and have not been able to find any. I got the vintage yellow. Wow- what a slick machine this is.The price was indeed a little steep. Could have bought two decent guitars for the price of this one but why bother. If someone is going to purchase a PRS guitar then they already know what to expect as far tonal capabilities, style, looks, and most of all, Playability. This guitar came in w/ very low action. It was set-up for 9,s so if you want bigger strings then your gonna have to fine tune to that size string. No big deal. Frets and fret board are very, very, very smooth and fast.Like water over glass.Picups are voiced nicely to the guitar. Tuners work very well. After string has stretched and setteled in it will stay in tune nicely. Tremolo is a nice feature. Not as much travel as a floyd rose and nowhere near as agrevating either. Rock,Blues,Country,Jazz, Whatever. This is truly the guitar for any serious player. Cheers Mr. PRS

I used to wonder why someone would pay so much money for a guitar until I played one. Amazing instruments. I'd recommend this guitar without hesitation. I love and own many USA made guitars: Gibson, Jackson, Charvel, Fender. My 2 PRS guitars are my favorites - simple and elegant. Save up your money and get one, it's worth it.
