The Ovation VXT Hybrid Guitar is the ideal axe for players looking for maximum acoustic and electric versatility in a single instrument. Tonal diversity is what it's all about with this powerhouse instrument. Pan from stunning acoustic sounds to hard-driving electric power chords with one fast turn of the output blend knob. The output blend is completely variable so you can combine electric and acoustic sounds for individual mixtures and richly complex textures. With the stereo cable (included) the output signals can be split for even more flexibility.

Electric sounds are provided by two Seymour Duncan '59 humbucking pickups that deliver the power to cover a wide range of styles. The VXT's acoustic sounds are supplied by Ovation's Virtual Image Processing (VIP) preamp. This advanaced acoustic sound imaging technology enables players to dial in natural, studio-quality acoustic sound with unlimited headroom and no feedback hassles. The acoustic preamp is fed by a Fishman Power Bridge. The VXT is crafted with a solid spruce top, chambered mahogany body joined to a mahogany set neck and rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays. The back is sculpted for comfort and the body is extremely feedback-resistant, perfect for playing live.

Includes Ovation hardshell case.

Killer Live Guitar!

I got an incredible deal on one of these. This is the guitar I usually grab for a gig. It screams electric, stays in tune, plays beautifully, and is my go-to dependable axe. Most often, I use a stereo cable- one end goes to the electric and the other to the PA for the acoustic side. You should hear it with the 2 signals blended at the same time. With a setup going to 2 separate sources of power, you need to make sure that either everything is plugged into the same power unit (as in a Furman Power Factor-GET ONE!) or use loop break units(rolls, ebtech, etc). I use both. The only thing I would change on all current Ovation guitars is to go back to the old set-pin tuners they used to have-much better tuning stability, but they still have near perfect tuners. I will refret mine with jumbo frets someday, but it plays so good there's nothing better for the price. The acoustic is passable, but not by itself- you still need the old roundback for those open mic nights. I've had my Ovation Elite Standard since '98, and it kicks. I want another one of these, but if you have to have just ONE really great electric and a little acoustic for live shows or the quiet parts of songs, get this. Handmade in the USA by 3 guys in Connecticut- go see the video on the Ovation website. I don't like the new Ovation roundbacks, but this guitar is fantastic.

GR8 neck!! Not too heavy, chambered body .Can play practice without an amp. Sound's wonderful. I own 2 Gibsons, 2 epiphones, and another ovation acoustic. this neck, weight, action and sound versatility make this my FAVORITE to play live. Gibson acoustic is better acoustic sound, but for the comfort---THIS is IT!! I bet the collectors will want one of these pretty soon.

I got a "deal" on this guitar without a case. It's the most versatile, best sounding guitar I have. It is made in U.S.A. and the build quality is high. The ability to mix in an acoustic sound is really cool - the highs clean up a lot. I had to change the strap locks. Try one.

I played this guitar in the store and my mind was blown at how good it sounded through a Peavey ValveKing and Fishman acoustic amp. I purchased it and brought it to a live gig the following weekend only too be stunned at the oppressive 60 cycle hum produced through both a direct box and Peavey Classic amp. No matter what ground lift features I tried, I could not get rid of it. If I disconnected one side of the output the hum went away, so you could use the acoustic side or the electric by themselves...Back it went.

Bought this guitar about a month and a half ago. I play in worship bands at church. Needed to be able to go back and forth from acoustic to electric. Picked up this guitar and thought what is Ovation doing? Boy was I wrong. This guitar fits all my needs. Great electric out of the humbuckers, and good solid acoustic sound, with some help from an acoustic Boss processor. The neck feels great and the action just right for me. I love being able to roll the knob controlling the balance between sounds to gently go between the acoustic/electric when needed. I'm sold on it.
