The Ovation CC245 12-string guitar is an amazing bargain. When you consider some of the brand's best signature performance features and quality materials are included, you may struggle with disbelief. The spruce top is accented by an inlaid abalone rosette, rosewood fretboard with abalone micro dots, abalone trim and a walnut bridge. A comfortable, mid-depth cutaway bowl pushes out balanced tone and the OP-4BT preamp provides easy on stage control. Ovation's Slimline pickup further enhances string-to-string balance.

The OP-4BT preamp offers ±12dB control over the bass, midrange, and treble frequencies for great tonal flexibility. It's on-board tuner is easy to use and helps you stay perfectly in-tune, even when using open or non-standard tunings.

The Celebrity CC245 acoustic electric guitar is dressed to impress as well as play like a guitar costing twice as much. Like all Celebrity models, CC Series instruments are designed and engineered by Ovation's USA development team.

Great 12-String

I played this at the music store, before even looking at the price tag. After noodling on it for a bit, I looked at the price. I thought it had to be a mistake! This guitar feels like a $1000 Ovation. Sound is excellent unplugged. Plugged in... hold on to your socks! On-board tuner is very good. This is my second Ovation 12-String and I do love it.

We actually own a CS245 (a discontinued model) which has the multiple sound hole set up instead of the standard single center sound hole. The sound of this guitar unplugged is a little bit different than the CC245. They both sound good, plenty of volume and enough punch to cut through other instruments and voices. The CC245 has more of a standard acoustic tone, unplugged, while the CS245 has an almost banjo or resonator guitar like tone. These are not the easiest 12 strings I have ever played, but they aren't the hardest either. The neck is fairly wide and even with extra light strings it takes a strong hand to finger some of the harder chords. As far as staying in tune my CS245 with Martin SP (studio performance) extra light strings keeps near perfect tune even with some pretty aggressive strumming. This guitar happens to be an early model and has different electronics than the newer models, but still sounds awesome plugged in! We own one other Ovation, a CK057 6 string A/E, and it too is an excellent instrument and sounds good unplugged and awesome when played through our Fender Acoustasonic amp.

I was very happy with this purchase. I have quite a collection of guitars and am very picky when I buy another.

First of all, the price is very affordable. It is made very well, solid construction and nice to look at too. Built in tuner is so convenient. And most importantly, the sound is wonderful! Ovation makes great guitars. This is the second Ovation that I own and am very happy with the purchase. Thanks Ovation!

Not quite...

I'm a praise and worship leader at my church and aggressively strum this guitar 8-10 hrs a week. In 2 years I blew through the first 7 frets, the headstock snapped off and I have to tune this thing constantly! It's VERY sensitive to temp changes; the tuning goes out as the back warms up to body temperature -- very frustrating. BUT...the sound system is signature Ovation, sounds GREAT and really sents out a strong signal to the board. Do not buy this guitar for any acoustical properties. But plugged in, it sounds great. Just plan on tuning 3-4 times per set.

Ovation CC245 Celebrity 12 string

I have owned mine for about 8 months now. I lowered the bridge and replaced the strings with very light Elixir Nanowebs. This has improved its playability somewhat. I do not play this guitar hard, but it is very difficult to keep in tune. I feel that this may be a defect in the design of the guitar. The neck and fiberglass body "gives".
