Ringing Ovation tone with striking looks and an easy price.
Bold tone with plenty of high-end power is generated by the spruce top, unique Lyrachord bowl back, preamp with 3-band EQ and gain control, plus gleaming sealed gold tuners, bound rosewood fretboard, multi-ply top binding, and abalone rosette for pleasing visuals.
I got this guitar 3 years ago, as an upgrade from nylon strings, and at the time i was just ecstatic about the massive upgrade. Its been good to me, apart from a strange anomaly where it breaks the g string all the time, even when its new. Its reliable and has a decent action in my opinion, though there is better out there, for the price? Im not so sure.
Im in the market now for a better guitar, like a taylor or a martin, because, after i went to go record with my ovation, it sounded like a rinky dinky little toy. It might be the carbon fiber body. Now everytime I hear it, I think wow its to bright, "wow i wish it had a warmer fuller tone"
When buying this consider, do i want to save up now for the best or use 350 now, and save up all over again for a better one later?

I play lead electric for a band, and never really got all into acoustic, don't even own one. But until I was offered a job of leading worship acousticly for a youth group I decided heck, acoustics easier then what I play, in my opinion. So I needed a cheap guitar cause I wasn't going to spend bunches on a nice one, I already pay enough for my electric equipment and the people at a repair, workshop know me by name, I am constantly in there with ajustments and such. But anywho I played this one at the same repair shop, and I loved it, walked out with it even. Though like every other guitar I have I got it pro. set up and some action adjustments but even without those, I was very very impressed with Ovation.

I picked this guitar up at my local music store, and frankly, I was quite impressed. I knew who ovation was, but I had never played one. I actually went in for another acoustic electric, but then I saw this one and decided to play it thinking it was way out of my pricerange. I looked at the tag and it was alot cheaper. So I pluged it in and it sounded great! I ended up walking out of the store with that guitar and I love it!

I was looking to buy my first acoustic-electric, so I headed to a music store. I'd been on this sight looking and had 4-5 guitars I wanted to play, this not being one of them. All the ones I had in mind were $250 or lower. I played 2-3 of those, and realized they sounded "cheap." I found an Ibanez in the store, played it and liked it, but then I saw this guitar. My grandfather has an Ovation from the 70's, and I love it. It has nylon strings and is built bigger. I played the Celebrity hoping it was similar to my grandfathers, and it was, and realized it blew all the others in it's price range, and even a couple I played over it's price range, out of the water. I bought it and haven't regretted it yet. The tone is awsome, the neck is narrow, making bar chords easier, tuners great, and it sounds great plugged in too. Couldn't ask for a better guitar for under $500 I don't think.

I bought this guitar a couple months ago and I am still quite pleased with it. It doesn't sound like any other guitar in it's price range or out of it's price range. It plays like an electric guitar with a dark acoustic tone. I would recommend it to beginners and intermediate players.
