Feel the difference!

Words are often poor when you have to describe something so unique and so different like Adamas. Exceptional beauty and very well made! Smooth fingerboard for effortless playing. Loud, with emphasis on basses, warm and percussive mids, clear and strong trebles. Very responsive where ever you touch! Well ballanced and good sustain. Prefer medium picks(0.60mm-075mm), medium to low action and not to heavy strumm! Overall Adamas 1687 Reissue is a great instrument. My opinion is that Adamas I 1687 is one step above from Adamas II(a fine guitar too). It is not just the headstock and bridge engraving! There are differences both in sound and construction! I have been palying with many guitars. Some of them really great! Definetely one of the best acoustics all around. Not better, not inequable from a great Martin or a Breedlove, Taylor etc. It is not "ringy" as a d-28(one of my favourite), or a taylor 9 series. But it has a totally unique and distinct character both in sound and appearance that you are going to love!

This is a great sounding guitar and well made and durable. It has the full sound that I never got when I played the celerbrity line of guitars. I have one complaint...the darn thing keeps sliding off my leg continuously

Standing the Test of Time

This is an odd review, but it might help you decide. I own the original 1970's version of this guitar. When I bought it, people worried about the long-term durability of its construction compared to the tried-and-true Martins of comparable value. After all of these years and much playing, my Adamas is literally as solid as the day it was made. Unlike conventional guitars, its tone hasn't changed with age...it's still as crisp and articulate as it ever was. The deep-bowl body without cut-aways provides amazing bass, an articulate and mellow mid-range, and breathtakingly-clear highs. Played fingerstyle with light gauge strings, its tonality and projection offer amazing acoustic possibilities. Armed with heavy-gauge strings and passed through a pre-amp into a stack powered by hot glass, it will rock with the best of them. Play one of these if you can. Buy it if it moves you. The sound of mine was sweet enough to move me to tears when I first played it. Sometimes it still does. Musical technology simply doesn't get any better than this.
