Ovation has added a host of improvements to their 1778LX Mid-Depth Acoustic-Electric Guitar, making it lighter, louder, richer and fuller - all the things you want your guitar to be.

The smooth, hard composite Lyrachord GS body improves projection and reflects top vibrations better than traditional material and is now even stronger and lighter. The LX guitar features a scalloped bracing pattern that evenly supports the top to provide the ultimate in acoustic output. The exotic wood leaf-shaped "epaulets" are now inlaid into the top with laser precision.

Designed in collaboration with Al DiMeola and Melissa Etheridge, the new OP-PRO combines state-of-the-art audio quality with guitarist-friendly features for a preamp that should please even the most discriminating player.

I have played many Acoustic Guitars during the past 30 years, and I always come home to Ovation.The 1778 LX Elite is what I am currently playing, and have found no other Guitar that sounds as good, regardless of price. Beginners may find it a little hard to get used to, but stick with it, and it will be a good friend to you. Play it agressively, and it does have a good bite. And of course, it does have the look. Also, you won't find anything else as good for the price.

This guitar is the best guitar I have ever owned. It is easy to play, easy to hold and just an overall joy to play. Everyone who sees it wants one like it. Ovation went the "Extra Mile" with this guitar. My nephew just saw it and he ordered one just like it from Musician's Friend.
