I recently went to Guitar Center not looking to buy a guitar but just browsing around, I don't typically pick up a guitar unless it's a Martin because that's what I own and play in church. I saw a used Ovation sitting on a stand that was very dirty, the action was very high and it had a dent in the top. I picked it up and couldn't believe how it sounded unplugged. It didn't come with a case. I took it up to the counter and bought it, wrapped it in a blanket and took it straight to my local guitar tech. They do all my set-ups for my Martin. They filled the dent with the same clear appoxy Ovation uses, reset the neck/action and cleaned it up. I'm not kidding, it looks brand new and plays like a dream. I ordered a case from Ovation and couldn't be happier.

Light weight guitar with the best electronics I've ever heard. AA-Sitka Spruce top, LX bracing, 1968 ovation pickup, and op-pro system to match. Sounds beautiful, and the 9vt battery goes for a long time, I change mine out about once a year. I play it plugged up about every day. Best Ovation I've ever played. I was going to get a Martin HD-28, and then I spoted this beauty, and picked her up and that was the end of my search for the perfect acoustic. This guitar is light in wieght, comfortable to play with the contoured bowl provided with the lx upgrade. Sound is incredible. I wanted to post a review to tell others what an incredible instrument and value you get with the new Ovation 1777 Legend LX. GOOD JOB OVATION!!!

Ive played this guitar and own an older $3000 version of it and is my favorite acoustic i have played ,it has a great sound and stays in tune perfectly...It will change you to own one

Be careful before believing the hype about this guitar. This guitar has poor frets NS TINNY TONE. I had many problems and Ovation is very unhlepful in resolving. Better off going with a Martin where they stand by their warranty.

I had two 2 ovations back in the 1970s and loved them. Like everyone else I got caught up in the Martin Taylor debate over the best guitar. I recently purchased the 1777 LX and I am very impressed. What a great guitar and what a savings over the high priced guys.
