The Moog MF-102 Moogerfooger Ring Modulator could be the best ring mod ever. Lots of fun to play with; turns the guitar into something else. This all-analog ring modulator rebuilds your sound into 2 separate tones and then uses an internal carrier oscillator to spread those tones apart in the frequency spectrum. The higher the carrier frequency, the more the new tones are separated. The very useable effects can be anything: slow, velvet-smooth tremolo, jangling chains, Chinese gongs. or classic outer space sounds. The LFO imparts trills, vibratos, and siren effects.

i'm still a metal head at heart but when i "solo" i love the avant garde etc a la wayne krantz and others that would use this sort of thing, the features are quite substantial and easy to play with, it's very sturdy etc, and although some may find the size a drawback i feel it isn't because of it's gravity on my sound, idk sounds silly to say that but tis true! the only thing i could really mark down for is that it isn't true bypass, or anything close, it seems to bleed something through in the signal when disengaged and me no likey, i plan on getting true bypass loopers so whatever, i want a second one since i have a two amp set up, and i've heard and heard about others, but this seems to be the more reasonable and worthwhile of the bunch of them out there, boutique or not so boutique, you will only enjoy this pedal if you like weirdness to come out of speakers to the point where it isn't a guitar anymore, it's not something i want all the time, from myself or anyone, but when it's the right time it's really good with this tool, thanks

The coolest effect i have ever come across. If you're an average guitar bro playing Dave Matthews covers than don't bother. If you have a taste for the extreme and are willing to experiment, just buy it, you won't be dissapointed at all. I also own the Electro Harmonix frequency analyzer (also awesome), but as far as ring mods go, this is worth the xtra cash. Unlike any effect pedal you will own. I highly recommend it to anyone playing experiemtal music.

Can't get enough of it

This pedal is so much fun. It's deceptively simple to use, it sounds crazy, and it's built like a tank! I play bass professionally, and nothing is more satisfying than the combined look of shock and awe from the croud when you turn this thing on during a solo. And it sounds wicked when you combine other stuff with it. I'll turn on my distortion, set my Digitech Bass Whammy to the detune setting, and turn on my Envelope Filter. Using the Moog Expression pedal, it sounds like a wah pedal on crack! The only problem is that it's huge. With the expression pedal next to it, it takes up a ton of pedal board space. But if you're like me and won't compromise (and enjoy a healthy helping of bass wierdness), check it out.

This pedal is pretty awesome. You can get lot of different cool sounds. The biggest problem with it is how it takes you out of tune. If the ring modulator is on the high setting it sounds cool but its just hard to match stuff up and make it sound good.

I still don't fully understand how everything works and I've spent hours on this pedal just playing around with it.

If your into spacey, weird sounds, this pedal is perfect.

When I first bought this pedal, I didn't really use it to make music for a while. Instead, I just played around with knobs. This guy takes a lot of getting used to, just because its so unconventional. Once you become familiar with it though, you gain the capability to create, for lack of a better way to put it, 'space music'. I like to throw in oddball riffs in my music to change things up every now and then, and the general mindset while I'm doing that is to make them sound as weird as possible. This is the pedal that will make your audience go 'wtf is that!?!'
