My fellow bandmate owns this guitar and it is one of the most well made guitars i have ever played. The neck fells great and is a good thickness not too thick not too thin. the frets are perfect now one flaw in the frets or any part of the guitar. the coil taps are really nice to have for getting a more vintage tone. Compared to expensive brands, that start with G and end in ibson, this blows them away.

I had gone to the guitar store today to try out a michael kelly glory, but when I walked in all they had was this one so reluctantly I decided to try this one and holy crap I have never played a guitar so well made and overall fantastic. I played licks, and chord progressions that I never knew I had in me. The neck was lightning quick, the pick ups had beautiful tones that not even my uncles gibson can compare to!! (its that amazing) Now that I've tried these im never buying another type of guitar. Michael kelly is the price of a good epipone but plays like a wonderful gibson.

Melts like butter in my hands. I prefer it over my Gibson and Fender. The only bad thing I found was the chrome plastic around the humbuckers. I switched mine out right away. The other ones looked cheap to me and my friends.

I've reviewed quite a few products on this website, including a number of guitars and amps, but this is the first time I've given ANY product all 5's!

I haven't had this Michael Kelly Patriot Phoenix Electric Guitar for very long yet, but I almost wore out my callouses the first few times I played it - I played for hours at a time! It looks great, feels great and I'm a sucker for coil taps on any guitar.

I highly recommend this guitar for anyone who likes great looks, excellent action and wonderful tones. I love it!

MK Patriot Phoenix

As others have said, it is a beautiful guitar; flame maple top and neck are simply gorgeous. The neck is fast and thinner than Les Paul, and the heel design allows easy access to upper frets. Out of the box, I had to correct the intonation and replace the strings (shipped with too light 09-42; replaced with 10-46 for improved intonation). The stock pickups are good for blues-classic rock. For metal you will need hotter pick-ups unless you have good distortion pedal. Compared to 2001 Les Paul Special SL (with 490R/498T pickups), the Patriot sounds brighter and has more clarity (particularly when comparing the neck pickups). The split-coil feature gives the Patriot a little more versatility. The only thing I would consider changing are the volume and tone pots. Neither of them is capable of subtle adjustment, and volume pots actually change the tone more than the volume (?!?). Overall, this is a beautiful and easy to play guitar that sounds great. It is hard to beat this guitar at this price
