This pedal is not going to get you the edgy side of OD without some help from your amp... but if you're like me and play a single channel or don't dare touch your dirty channel on your amp, then you know you need great effects that utilize your guitar and the basic EQ to make great tones. This pedal still does this. I have 2 types of playing and 2 types of guitars to me... I have a Fender Custom Strat with Texas Specials and custom wiring, and Ibanez RG series guitars that are downright deadly. Both sound phenomenal on this, but the Strat really captures a smooth tone great for light overdrive, blues, and anything on a slightly more mellow level... of course if I beef it up on the dirty channel it really can sing/scream, but it's an elegant pedal that won't let you down, is made tight, and light (this thing is seriously light for it's size). I traded my Line 6 DM4 straight for it, and it's the best thing I've ever traded for. I will never let it go!

sounds great and is really fun to play with or be serious.
