The Maxon DS-830 is a great pedal. I own the ROD-881 and love it but wanted to try this one and was able to add some of the same tones while the ds can not do the scouped sound of the rod it can do pretty much anything else and is easy to dial up quick kick butt tones. I have owned many pedals over the years and the maxon's have never dissapointed me, great stuff.

distortion sounds good for any style of music, classic rock,metal,etc. price is kind of steep put you will probably be pleased once you play, plus it comes with the adapter to power it thats 20 bucks by itsself any who cool pedal if you want to pay the cash. lots better than a mt2
