Other electronic features include a fully programmable digital EQ, feedback control, and a chromatic tuner.

The DC-Aura has a solid Sitka spruce top, solid Indian rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck with modified low oval shape, and special pearl hexagon outline inlays on the ebony fretboard and bridge. Other special Martin touches include a mother-of-pearl logo, ebony bridge and end pins with abalone dots, and gold tuners with ebony buttons.

Ehh....it's ok...

Experience w/product: I have used it

Sound: Good sound. Not the loudest unplugged, but it has some volume. I think gloss finishes always dead'n the resonance of a top.

Playability: I like the thin neck very much. Very easy to play. Action is set low on the one I played so it makes it nice for any type of soloing. However, I think low action always takes away from the "good" tone of an acoustic. But this is being bought to be plugged in right?

Construction: Very solid guitar. Not a fan of gloss finishes, but again, very solid construction.

Electronics: I didn't get a chance to use the electronics but after having owned the Dreadnought Aura Imaging pedal, I'm sure Fishman did a great job w/ this preamp.

Overall: I'm a budget guy so I would never buy this guitar. However, if you have the money, it's a decent guitar, but there are others out there FAR better than this for less cash. I have always felt Martin was overpriced and overrated on a majority of their products.

Best Acoustic Electric

For many years I have been an acoustical purist and have resorted to buying and playing guitars based on acoustical projection, clarity, tone and playability. I have avoided acoustic-electrics because none of them ever sounded right to my discriminate ears. That is until I accidentally found this little beauty in my local music store. It was love at first play and now my whole outlook has changed. Not only does this guitar acoustically sound and play well, the onboard Fishman electronics are truly amazing. Martin struck a homerun/hat trick with this model. The action and feel of this guitar is smooth, fast and sexy with that traditional Martin sound. The inlays and workmanship are what you would expect to see on much higher priced Martins. This instrument fits the bill of my fingerstyle classical, jazz and blues style and anything else that I can play on it. I highly recomend this to any guitarist for live and studio work!

I was in the market for a Gibson J-300, and walked into Westwood Music, in ca, when the owner(Fred, who is a great friend) knew that we were recording our second project, told me to try the DC-Aura. I began to flat pick, then strum, then finger picked the guitar, and bought it. It has been my number 1 on stage and studio ever since.

Sings, sustains, amd booms

I wanted to trade in my '83 Strat '62 reissue - for what I didn't know. When I shop, I don't need to pull an acoustic guitar off the wall I thump the low E string. If it gives me that "boom", I test drive it.

Well I couldn't put this Martin down. It sang as my fingers glided over the strings because of the superb action.

It has tonal quality that you will find in the vintage Martins beautiful resonating low end and clear crisp highs.

The onboard electonics was a secondary feature for me because after 2 hours of working this baby out - I plugged it in and again quality as well.

The tuner...you need to have a jack plugged in to activate it - bad idea.

Awsome Piece of Art

I justed purchased this baby yesterday. And have played with different amps at the store. So far my best sound was with a Fender Acoustic ultrasonix SFX amp. I could not beleive the sound. When you play with blending knobs. It sounds great I just wish it would have come with a brochure or manuel of some kind. For info on the Fishman Aura electronics. There was just a cleaning and stringing your guitar brochure. what. Also, when you pay over $2500. for a piece of art like this you should get some kind of authtication statement. For future value of the piece and original owner. Other than that I will keep everyone posted. Learning and writing some new songs. This makes my Taylor CE714 sound like a second rate intstrument. And I was really looking at another Taylor. You guys at Taylor might need to step it up.
