How Sweet It Still Is

I bought my 1989 D-16 decades ago, and it is still a thing of beauty. It stays in tune against nearly impossible odds. It is the best guitar I've ever played and it isn't the most expensive one I've tried out. Not by a long shot. Even picked up a couple Martins that were twice the price, but not that same sweet tone this one had. I'm still in love with it.

Just gets better with age

I bought my D16H92 new in 1992, and chose it over a D28 painted black..... D16 had better volume, clearer sound and better harmonics. 15 years later, it's just gotten better.

I bought my D16M in October of 1989. It has been the best investment I have ever made (with exception to the two home I purchased in Southern California). It has aged as you would expect a fine instrument to age; perfectly. The sound is sweet and full. I have made ZERO modifications to it. Martin has stood by their warranty and in 1998 fixed a hairline crack in the bridge and just recently (2008) fixed the binding on the treble side of the waist. I plan on playing this guitar forever. It only get better with time.

Martin D16

The first thing I noticed when I opened the case of my brand new Martin D16 was the aroma of the timber. I have owned many quality guitars over the years, but the Martin is the only one that smells so good you want to play it.

When you do come to play it, you will discover it to be faultless. This instrument has no bad habits. It feels beautiful, the neck and frets are gorgeous, and the sound that emanates from the body is so beautiful and flawless you will never wish to put the marvellous Martin back in it's case. Indeed I may request that the Martin company produce a case large enough to accomodate me with my D16, so loathe am I to leave it. The bottom line is, if you are looking for something special; quite superb, faultless and probably the last guitar you will ever need to buy...get a Martin.

Top Notch Value

Bought this guitar a couple months ago for use in theatre productions and music for children. I wanted to upgrade from my classic Yamaha and was looking to get as much bang for my buck as possible.

THIS WAS IT!

Tone is great and the thing is a cannon. I play a lot of venues that suck up sound and this guitar has yet to let me down. I tried gibsons and taylors - none came close. For the money there is no better guitar out there. Whether you are a picker and a grinner or a serious musician this guitar packs a punch with crisp high end and booming low end.

Great durability as well. The kids love to pick at it and play it so that is an issue with my guitars as well as my banjos. Make sure to buy a humidifier for the winter and you are set for a lifetime!

A top notch value!
