Bang for your Buck!

I have several fine guitars. My Martin HD16-R Adirondack is THE guitar! I bought this guitar to replace a Seagull Artist Folk hoping for a more lively and responsive instrument. It delivers! The only disappointment is that I didn't have more money for a glossy model. The OM-1 has that sistinctive Martin sound with it's wonderful overtones. The sound is balanced with great volume from a smaller body. The neck is very comfortable to play and the rosewood fingerboard and bridge look great, a treat on such a low priced guitar. Setup was very good and I may lower the saddle a little but it is good as it is. Overall this was a bargain. Will I wish it had a semigloss finish, yes, do I wish it had a V-neck, yes, but these thing fade away when I play the guitar. I have spent twice as much for a Guild CO-2 and it looks great but doesn't sound as good a the Martin OM-1.

I went to my local guitar store looking for a Martin because I love their sound. I tried every one in the store and three really stood out in terms of having a great tone -- this one, the John Mayer model, and the Eric Clapton model (the latter two are virtually identical models, by the way). The tone of these three models is exactly the same. And I do mean exactly. The artist signature models are fancier with nicer materials, and they do project sound better, but the tone is exactly the same as this model. And I actually preferred the feel of the OM-1 to the signature models. So, given that the OM-1 is one-third the price of the Mayer and Clapton models, buying this one was an easy choice. When I got home and played along with Layla from Clapton Unplugged, the tone of my OM-1 matched his precisely. Bottom line: I could not be happier with this guitar and would recommend it highly to anyone who puts great sound over a fancy exterior.

Very good sound, very light guitar and a very affordable price, didnt have any complaints exept I guess this model doesnt have a metal button for the strap, its all good though :D.

I LOVE this guitar!!! Sure, there are more flashy ones out there! But, this is beautiful with its simplicity! it sounds AMAZING! It is easily comparable to the two or three thousand dollar guitars that played it next to! The playability is out of this world. the only reason that i gave it a 4.5 on feaures is because it is not acoustic electric, but that is only a minorset back as it can easily and cheaply be fixed! Overall this guitar is exactly wanted! A beautiful, made in america, high quility, and great sounding, playable masterpiece. EXCELLENT JOB MARTIN!!!!
