The Martin 000-28EC Eric Clapton Signature Acoustic Guitar is handcrafted with a premium East Indian rosewood back and sides and a bookmatched top of select quartersawn Sitka spruce. Its smaller 000 body size and short 24-9/10" scale help produce delicate, balanced tones. The rosette and soundboard are inlaid with herringbone wood marquetry, and the body is bound with grained ivoroid. An ebony fingerboard features a long diamonds-and-squares pattern in abalone pearl. Eric's signature is inlaid in mother-of-pearl between the 19th and 20th frets. Tastefully appointed with hand-beveled tortoise pickguard, nickel-plated open-geared machines equipped with unique butterbean knobs. Each Martin Eric Clapton Signature Guitar bears an interior label, individually numbered in sequence. Includes limited lifetime warranty and deluxe Martin hardshell case.

Best Acoustic I have ever played!

Went to the music store to drop about 5000 on a new acoustic, after owning a Martin D16 (which I still own and love) I wanted something other than a Martin. Not b/c I disliked my D16, simply for a variety. However, After playing every Taylor, Guild, etc they had I was about to leave. I then saw the Clapton hanging on the wall and grabbed it. Bought it in 10 minutes. By far the best acoustic I have ever played. Neck design is fatter than normal, but fits in your palm perfectly. Tone is outstanding. I only by Martin now.

Have 3 signature martins (this Eric Clapton, Andy Summers, and Richie Sambora)... all unique but I have to say this one stands out a bit... the sound is so sweet yet crisp (I use Martin Eric Clapton light strings)... when I play this in my porch looking at the woods the acoustic sound blends in with mother nature so so well... However, this is a pure acoustic, there is no pickup so buyers beware.

Spotting the guitar that john mayer used in his Where the light is Concert/dvd I rushed across the room eager to be blown away. I quickly tuned down for a little "Neon" and was surprised by what i heard and felt. The guitar was nice sounding and playability was excellent but it did not have the magic that i was expecting. My goal when shopping for guitars is to find one with a strong, unique character and these days those are becoming harder and harder to find. There is no doubt that this guitar is beautiful and very well made and who knows, maybe it just needs to be broken in. However, for this price you can get a very nice vintage guitar with personality and have some money left over.

The Martin 00028V is a jaw dropping guitar. I have played the 00028EC side by side with several Maton's. I'll take the Martin every time. If you have never played a high end Martin Rosewood 000, you are in for the ride of your life. This guitar is certainly NOT overpriced. It is worth every penny. Perfection is expensive. This guitar is acoustic perfection. The 00028EC is a fine example of why C.F. Martin & Company remains the standard that all others attempt to copy. The Ausie's make fine guitars, but the 00028EC does not take a back seat to any Maton. Why would I want to own a Maton, when I can own the real deal with the Martin EC? There is a reason that Martin guitars are legendary. This guitar transmits that legendary tone in spades.

I was searching for an acoustic guitar from martin that produces sweet tone with good playability. This guitar more than delivers. Just looking at it, it boasts of beautiful craftsmanship. I wasnt influenced by the guitar being a clapton model doesnt personally make a huge difference for me although I do respect him. This guitar simply sounds incredible looks incredible and is for life. For live use a pickup fitted would be recomended and possible a strap button also. looking to buy? go and try for yourself if possible first. however any modern guitarist looking for a top quality guitar don't turn your nose up if your not a clapton fan, just go and play it!
